    摘要: The present invention relates generally to the use of polyaryletherketone-based thermoplastic materials in the fabrication of logging tools employed in high pressure, high temperature, downhole logging applications. A polyaryletherketone resin bonded with glass fibers is formed into a housing for the logging tool. The housing is constructed by any of the following processes: filament winding or compression molding. When used with a logging tool, the housing encloses the operative components of the logging tool, such as sensors and sources, and protects the operative components from borehole fluids.

    摘要: Aromatic polyether polymers, illustrated by polyethersulfones, polyetherketones and polyetherimides, are prepared by a phase transfer catalyzed reaction between a salt of at least one dihydroxyaromatic compound and at least one substituted aromatic compound such as bis(4-chlorophenyl) sulfone, bis(4-chlorophenyl) ketone or 1,3-bis�N-(4-chlorophthalimido)!benzene, in a monoalkoxybenzene such as anisole as diluent and in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, preferably a hexaalkylguanidinium salt.

    摘要: Polyetherimide oligomers having crosslinking end cap moieties which provide improved solvent-resistance to cured composites are generally represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein X=--O-- or --S--; ##STR2## n=1 or 2; ##STR3## E=allyl or methallyl; R=a trivalent C.sub.(6-13) aromatic organic radical;R.sub.1 =any of lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, aryl, or substituted aryl;R'=a divalent C.sub.(6-30) aromatic organic radical;j=0, 1, or 2; andG=--CH.sub.2 --, --O--, --S--, or --SO.sub.2 --Blends generally comprise substantially equimolar amounts of the oligomers and a comparable, compatible, noncrosslinking, etherimide polymer of substantially the same backbone. The crosslinkable oligomers are made by reacting substituted phthalic anhydrides with hydroxyaryl amines and suitable crosslinking end cap reactants, or by self-condensation of phthalimide salts followed by capping the polymers. Related polyetherimides of the present invention can be prepared by the condensation of nitrophthalic anhydride, diamines, dialcohols (dihydricphenols), and phenolic, crosslinking end caps (A--OH), or the condensation of bis(phenates) or dialcohols (bisphenols), diamines, nitrophthalic anhydride, and amine-terminated end caps (A--NH.sub.2) or nitro-terminated end caps (A--NO.sub.2).The oligomers and blends can be prepregged, and can be cured to form advanced composites having aerospace applications.

    摘要: A method for preparing poly(aryl ether ketones) having the repeat unit of the formula--CO--Ar--CO--Ar'--wherein Ar and Ar' are aromatic moieties at least one of which contains a diaryl ether linkage forming part of the polymer backbone, wherein Ar and Ar' are covalently linked to the carbonyl groups through aromatic carbon atoms, and wherein Ar and Ar' are independently selected from substituted and unsubstituted phenylene and substituted and unsubstituted polynuclear aromatic moieties, which method comprises heating an appropriate monomer system, for example, the potassium salt of 4-fluoro-4'-hydroxybenzophenone, in the presence of a solvent comprising an aromatic ketone of the formula ##STR1## where Y is a direct bond; two hydrogen atoms, one bonded to each aromatic ring; carbonyl; oxygen; sulfur; sulfoxide; or sulfone; and wherein Z and Z' are independently hydrogen, phenyl, phenoxy, or substituted phenyl or phenoxy, with the proviso that if Z and Z' are both hydrogen, then Y is other than two hydrogen atoms.
