摘要: The invention is a cleaning material for cleaning printing machines. The cleaning material is comprised of a fabric that has been impregnated with a cleaning composition having branched chain monobasic and/or dibasic esters that contain 2-ethyl hexanoate. The cleaning composition can also include additional low volatility solvents and surfactants. A particularly useful cleaning composition is comprised of isobutyl stearate in combination with branched chain monobasic and/or dibasic esters that contain 2-ethyl hexanoate. The cleaning material can be wound onto a roll that can be adaptable to fit commercially available printing machine cleaning devices.

摘要: An absorbent article is provided comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core comprises particles of superabsorbent polymer. An acquisition layer is positioned between the topsheet and the absorbent core for receiving and distributing fluid insults for absorption by the absorbent core. A temporary storage layer is positioned between the acquisition layer and the absorbent core, the temporary storage layer comprising a nonwoven fabric having a capacity to receive and temporarily hold the fluid insults in proximity to the absorbent core for a sufficient time for the fluid insults to be absorbed by the superabsorbent polymer in the absorbent core. In one advantageous embodiment, the acquisition layer has a calculated average pore size greater than 100 μm and the temporary storage layer has a calculated average pore size less than 100 μm.

摘要: A non-resealable package for wet wipes has a base layer and a flexible top layer which overlays a stack of wet wipes and is sealed to the base layer, and a slit is formed in the flexible top layer along one side of the stacked lateral edges of the stack near a topmost-lying one of the wipes. The top layer is made of a selected flexible material and the slit is positioned and cut with a selected length such that opposing slit ends of the flexible top layer can be pushed apart by a user with fingers of one hand while keeping evaporation of solvent or fluid to a low level. In one version, the slit is simply cut through the top layer and closed with a membrane and adhesive-coated covering for shipping and storage. In another version, a reinforcing layer of greater thickness or stiffness is adhered to the top layer around the slit so that the slit edges tend to resume their initial positions and realign to minimize the open area of the slit when the user's fingers are withdrawn. The stack-edge positioned slit allows wet wipes to be withdrawn with one hand without the need to reseal the slit opening. It is especially suitable for packaging of wet wipes impregnated with solvent for use in an industrial environment.

摘要: A nonwoven composite web is formed by a wet process on a papermaking machine. The web coming off the papermaking machine is dried and thermally bonded using heated calendar rolls. The nonwoven composite material is made from a furnish of polymeric staple fibers, a first binder fiber consisting, at least in part, of a first thermoplastic binder material which melts at a first melting temperature less than and a second binder fiber consisting, at least in part, of a second polymeric material which has second melting temperature which is higher than the first melting temperature. The first polymeric material is selected to have a first melting temperature less than the temperature to which the first material will be subjected in the papermaking machine. The melted first polymeric material gives the web strength on the papermaking machine. The second polymeric material is selected to have a second melting temperature less than the temperature to which the second material will be subjected in the calendar rolls. Thus, the second polymeric material is melted as the web passes through the calendar rolls and thermally bonds the other fibers of the web when the melted second polymeric material fuses upon cooling. The staple fibers are made of polyester and the bicomponent binder fibers are of the co-polyester/polyester sheath/core variety. The support substrate has a sheet porosity in the range of 5-10 cfm.
