摘要: A method for operating a pump includes establishing a pump limit characteristics diagram by mapping a first system parameter (P1) as a function of a second system parameter (P2) to identify a permissible operating region of the pump; for each first system parameter value (P10), identifying a minimum allowable second system parameter value (P20); monitoring the first system parameter (P1) and identifying a minimum allowable second system parameter value (P20) corresponding to the monitored first system parameter value (P1m); monitoring the second system parameter (P2) and comparing the monitored second system parameter value (P2m) with the identified minimum allowable second system parameter value (P20); and regulating a control valve that controls fluid flow through a return line connecting the suction and discharge sides of the pump so that the monitored second system parameter value (P2m) does not fall below the minimum allowable second system parameter value (P20).

摘要: A method of operating a system (16) for pumping a fluid, which system comprises a pump (17) comprising a suction side (18) and a discharge side (19); a motor (20) for driving the pump, which motor is drivingly connected to the pump via a shaft; a recirculation conduit (23) providing a fluid path for the fluid from the discharge side to the suction side of the pump; and a control valve controlling the flow of the fluid through the recirculation conduit, which method comprises the steps of: mapping a plurality of minimum torque diagrams for the pump, where each minimum torque diagram identifies the minimum allowable torque of the pump as a function of an operational parameter of the pump, e.g. the differential pressure over the pump; from said plurality of minimum torque diagrams, identifying the minimum torque diagram best representing the current operation of the pump; monitoring said operational parameter of the pump and, from the minimum torque diagram best representing the current operation of the pump, identifying a minimum allowable torque value corresponding to a monitored value of said operational parameter of the pump, e.g. a monitored differential pressure value; monitoring the torque of the pump and comparing a monitored torque value with the identified minimum allowable torque value; and regulating the control valve such that the monitored torque value does not fall below the minimum allowable torque value. A corresponding pumping system is also disclosed.

摘要: A method for determining the flow rates of a fluid comprising a multi-component mixture of a gas and at least one liquid in a pipe, the method comprising the following steps: a. The temperature and pressure of the multi-component mixture is determined, b. the fractions of the multi-component mixture is determined based on at least two measured physical properties of the multi-components mixture and knowledge of the same physical property of the individual components of the multi-component mixture, c. the velocity of the multi component mixture is determined, d. based on the result from step a-c, the flow rate of the individual component of the fluid is determined, characterized by a method for determining the physical properties of at least one of the components of the multi-component mixture where e. an electromagnetic loss or phase measurement is performed, f. a statistical parameter related to the electromagnetic measurement is calculated, g. the said statistical parameter is compared to an empirical derived threshold value corresponding to the value of the statistical parameter when only one of the component of the multi component mixture is present, and h. the said physical properties of said fluid is determined if the statistical parameter exceeds the threshold value for the said component and used in step b-d to provide an improved value of the fractions, velocity and flow rate of the individual components of the multi-component mixture. An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed.
