    摘要: A piston device for internal combustion engines includes a first compression ring and a second compression ring in an outer circumference of a piston, wherein the second compression ring includes a notch extending from the inner circumference to the outer circumference on a lower surface of at least one of a pair of ends of the ring, and a gap between the ring ends at the notch on the second compression ring is larger than a gap between the ring ends of the first compression ring, and a gap between the ring ends at the section other than the notch on the second compression ring is the same or smaller than the gap between the ring ends of the first compression ring, and the second compression ring contains an outer circumferential surface comprised of a tapered surface decreasing the ring radial thickness towards the upper side, and an axial parallel surface formed below the tapered surface. Instead of the axial parallel surface, the second compression ring may utilize a tapered surface with a taper angle smaller than the taper angle of the above tapered surface; or may utilize a tapered surface decreasing the ring radial thickness towards the lower side.

    摘要: A combined oil ring is comprised of an oil ring and an expander. The cross section of the oil ring is a generally I-shape, and the outer circumferential surfaces of outer rail portions form sliding surfaces to make contact with the cylinder wall surface. The cross section of an expander installation groove formed on the inner circumferential surface of the oil ring is formed in a rectangular shape, and an expander formed of axially corrugated ring-shaped plate material is mounted in the expander installation groove. The expander is formed by forming a rectangular cross sectional plate material in a corrugated shape in the direction of plate thickness and further forming in a ring shape. The expander installation groove of the oil ring is not limited to a rectangular shaped cross section. For example, the cross section of the expander installation groove may have a trapezoidal shape widening towards the inner circumference, and the cross section of the plate material forming the expander may have a generally diamond-shaped cross section.

    摘要: A hard film is covered on the outer circumferential surface of a piston ring by means of an arc ion plating. The hard film has a mixture of crystal structure of CrN and crystal structure of Mo.sub.2 N containing oxygen in a solid solution state, and comprises chromium at 40 to 78 percent by weight, molybdenum at 3 to 35 percent by weight, oxygen at 3 to 20 percent by weight and the remainder of nitrogen. The crystal particle size is less than 1 .mu.m. The Vickers hardness is within a range from 1600 to 2500. The film thickness is preferably 1 to 60 .mu.m. Carbon in a solid solution state at 0.5 to 8 percent by weight may be substituted for the oxygen. Alternatively, both oxygen and carbon may be contained in a solid solution state with oxygen at 3 to 20 percent by weight, carbon at 0.5 to 8 percent by weight with the total content of carbon and oxygen within 25 percent by weight.

    摘要: A piston ring is formed with a nitrided layer over all surfaces and formed with a composite chromium plating film over the nitrided layer in the outer circumferential surface. The composite chromium plating film has a network of cracks formed on the outer surface and interior. Spherical alumina particles are fixed in these cracks. The average size of the spherical alumina particles is 0.7 to 10 .mu.m and the dispersion ratio of the spherical alumina particles is 3 to 15 percent by volume.

    摘要: The yield of flat powder (6) of Al, Mg or their alloy is enhanced by forming, on a rotary cooling body (4), a film (8) which can prevent the flat metal powder (8) from sticking to the cooling surface. The film (8) adheres to the cooling surface at a force which is sufficient for forming the film but which enables the film material to adhere to the flat powder which then separates from the cooling body (4). The film consists essentially of at least one liquid lower fatty acid and at least one solid higher fatty acid.
