摘要: A single and multi-layer flat glass-sensor structure and method of making the flat glass-sensor structure. The flat glass sensor structure comprises at least one flat glass layer, a sensor and a heater. The flat glass layer has a plurality of cutouts that are configured to “suspend” the sensor on top of or in plane with the flat glass layer. The sensor is an electrochemical wafer with at least one sensory element and flat glass connectors. Each flat glass connector is in minimal contact with at least one sensory sub-area. The heater is a resistive heating element that is on top of or in plane with the flat glass layer configured to heat the sensor. The flat glass connectors are configured to provide support for electrical leads to the heater and membrane. The flat glass connectors are also configured to provide temperature insulation of the suspended sensor.

摘要: Apparatus and associated methods related to determining medical services appropriate to a patient in response to a patient lifecycle event: presenting the medical services to the patient for selection; optionally scheduling the selected medical services; and automatically presenting the selected services for prepayment. The patient lifecycle event may be, for example, a doctor's order, diagnosis, condition change, payment, admission, or discharge. The services presented to the patient may be determined in response to, and as a function of, the lifecycle event. For example, the services presented may include procedures determined after the lifecycle event, in view of patient medical history. In an illustrative example, the services presented may be based on medical indication, contraindication, provider or facility availability, or patient scheduling preference, advantageously permitting more medically relevant, beneficial, convenient, or cost-effective services. Various examples may advantageously provide a discount for a service bundle provided at a particular time or facility or by an affiliated physician or medical group.

摘要: A method for enhancing the rain and sun protection of a golf cart roof using a rain and sun shield device. The rain and sun shield for a covered golf cart is semi-permanently attached to the roof of a golf cart. The device is easy to install; will retrofit to any standard golf cart roof; does not interfere with the parking and storing profile (i.e. are sized to fit within the perimeter of any standard golf cart roof when in the closed position) of a fleet of golf carts. The device is easily opened and closed to provide the golf cart user with added sun and rain protection when in use.

摘要: An apparatus and method of use for a comprehensive transcranial low-level light therapy for use with ischemic brain tissue using a multitude of polychromatic Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) embedded into a flexible head covering that stretches securely around the patient's cranium to bath the entire cranium cavity in a variable frequency, variable power density light spectrum, maximizing all beneficial effects to the cellular tissues whether or not they are specifically deprived of blood from the ischemic stroke event. The bulbs covering the n-p junction of the semiconductor LEDs directly contact the patient's cranial skin to maximize the depth of penetration of the wavelengths into the brain's cortex cells. By using many individual point-source LEDs emitting all around the cranium, greater therapeutic benefit can be achieved as more of the cortex tissues are irradiated.

摘要: A universal feeder system that combines with a fluidized bed gasification reactor for the treatment of multiple diverse feedstocks including sewage sludge, municipal solid waste, wood waste, refuse derived fuels, automotive shredder residue and non-recyclable plastics. The invention thereby also illustrates a method of gasification for multiple and diverse feedstocks using a universal feeder system. The feeder system comprises one or more feed vessels and at least one live bottom dual screw feeder. The feed vessel is rectangular shaped having three vertical sides and an angled side of no less than 60 degrees from the horizontal to facilitate proper flow of feedstock material that have different and/or variable flow properties. The feedstocks are transferred through an open bottom chute to a live bottom dual screw feeder and through another open bottom chute to a transfer screw feeder that conveys feedstock to the fuel feed inlets of a gasifier.
