摘要: A process for recovering a nickel cobalt manganese hydroxide from recycled lithium-ion battery (LIB) material such as black mass, black powder, filter cake, or the like. The recycled LIB material is mixed with water and either sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid at a pH less than 2. Cobalt, nickel, and manganese oxides from the recycled lithium-ion battery material dissolve into the acidic water with the reductive assistance of gaseous sulfur dioxide. Anode carbon is filtered from the acidic water, leaving the dissolved cobalt, nickel, and manganese oxides in a filtrate. The filtrate is mixed with aqueous sodium hydroxide at a pH greater than 8. Nickel cobalt manganese hydroxide precipitates from the filtrate. The nickel cobalt manganese hydroxide is filtered from the filtrate and dried. The filtrate may be treated ammonium fluoride or ammonium bifluoride to precipitate lithium fluoride from the filtrate. The composition ratio of nickel to cobalt to manganese in the acid filtrate may be adjusted to a desired ratio. The anode carbon is recovered and purified for reuse.

摘要: A battery is provided having heat transfer bars that directly transfer heat between the interior layers of a battery cell and the case that encloses the battery cell. The battery does not transfer significant heat from its interior layers to the posts of the battery that reside outside of the battery case. A temperature-controlled power system also is provided that uses multiple, active thermoelectric devices paired with multiple batteries to provide individual temperature control of the individual batteries forming the power system. The multiple, active thermoelectric devices preferably transfer heat to a single radiator on each side of the power system. A method of transferring heat from a battery interior using conductive, active, and convective heat transfer is also described.

摘要: An intra-oral, nanoemulsion blend is provided that enhances liver and toxin excretion performance in mammals when orally administered. A solid powder toxin binding composition also is provided that may be used to irreversibly bind the toxins reaching the bowel so that once the toxins are excreted into the bowel, they may not be reabsorbed, and are thus eliminated. A method of administering the nanoemulsion blend and the toxin binding composition to enhance toxin excretion also is described. The nanoemulsion blend is ingestible and edible.

摘要: An HVAC duct ozone generator includes at least two ozone generation plate stacks, where each plate stack includes at least two independently electrically addressable plate groupings, where a primary plate grouping includes fewer ozone generation plates than a secondary plate grouping. Thus, the generator includes at least four independent ozone generation control channels to energize the primary and secondary plate groupings of each of the at least two plate stacks. The number of plates in a plate grouping may optionally be altered to reduce the ozone generation capacity of the primary plate grouping in relation to the secondary plate grouping through the movement of insulators between the stacked ozone generation plates.
