    摘要: A departure device couples to a bit using a connector that facilitates release of the bit from the departure device. The connector may be more millable than the departure device and can transmit axial and torque loads between the bit and the departure device. The connector may include a material having lesser strength or hardness than the departure device, and may be millable by the bit. Another example connector may have connection points with the bit, and a movable member of the departure device may a force to the connector and contribute to releasing the connection between the bit and the departure device. A tensile connector between the bit and the movable member may apply a tension force to the movable member, urging the movable member toward an extended position in which the movable member is aligned coherently with a sloped face of the departure device.

    摘要: A plastic container comprising a box and a lid. The box has a bottom portion and first and second pairs of opposing walls rising from the bottom portion to define an internal space of the container, and the upper edges of the walls are adapted to support the lid and comprise a flanges that extend outwards from the inner space. The lid is adapted to leave an outer portion of said flanges free along the entire length of the walls of the first pair when the lid is applied to the box. The lid can optionally be removed, even if the box is inserted in a rack where the flanges are supported by a guide.

    摘要: Methods and tools for cutting a component in a wellbore are include use of a downhole tool that is tripped into a wellbore. The downhole tool includes at least one sensor that determines whether a quality of a cement around casing satisfies a predetermined standard. The casing is cut to remove an axial section of the casing and the at least one sensor determines whether at least a segment of the axial section of the casing remains adhered to the cement after the casing is cut. A casing removal tool can be activated to remove any remaining segments of casing in the axial section. A plug can be formed in the area where the axial segment of the casing was removed. The downhole tool may include a cutting tool with a laser, abrasive jet, or other cutting element shielded from wellbore debris by a fluid stream.

    摘要: Systems and methods are presented for improving stabilization of a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. More specifically, the systems and methods include a heat-flow modulator for regulating an exchange of thermal energy between a flow of refrigerant and a sensory bulb. The exchange of thermal energy allows an expansion valve to respond to a refrigerant temperature using an actuator, which is coupled to the sensory bulb. The heat-flow modulator is formed of a body that includes a first contact surface and a second contact surface. The first contact surface is thermally-coupled to a suction line of the HVAC system, which conveys the flow of refrigerant. The second contact surface is thermally-coupled to the sensory bulb. In one instance the heat-flow modulator has variable volume depending on how installed. Other systems and methods are presented. Variable heat-flow modulators are also presented.

    摘要: A flue shield and mesh baffle are described for use within HVAC systems and inside of a combustion chamber. The shield or baffle can be installed around the burner and within the combustion chamber to help dissipate heat that builds up as a result of the combustion of gas and air. An air gap is created between the flue shield and the inner surfaces of the combustion chamber and heat exchanger tubes. A mesh baffle can provide heat insulation and noise dampening. Installation of a flue shield or mesh baffle provides better efficiency than insulation solutions, reduces stresses on the heat exchanger, and provides safety benefits.
