摘要: The current document is directed to various types of oscillating resonant modules (“ORMs”), including linear-resonant vibration modules, that can be incorporated in a wide variety of appliances, devices, and systems to provide vibrational forces. The vibrational forces are produced by back-and-forth oscillation of a weight or member along a path, generally a segment of a space curve. A controller controls each of one or more ORMs to produce driving oscillations according to a control curve or control pattern for the ORM that specifies the frequency of the driving oscillations with respect to time. The driving oscillations, in turn, elicit a desired vibration response in the device, appliance, or system in which the one or more ORMs are included. The desired vibration response is achieved by selecting and scaling control patterns in view of known resonance frequencies of the device, appliance, or system.

摘要: Systems and methods are directed to securing products to product display assemblies. In one aspect, a product display assembly includes an adjustable bracket for securing a product. The adjustable bracket for securing a product comprises a first bracket arm, a second bracket arm, and a base comprising a top plate, a bottom plate, a gear located between the top plate and the bottom plate, and a lock that is controllable between a locked state and an unlocked state. The first and second bracket arms extend laterally outward from opposite sides of the base. The gear is located between the top plate bottom surface and the bottom plate top surface. The lock compresses the top plate and the bottom plate together to restrict extension of the first and second bracket arms relative to the base.

摘要: An apparatus including a photovoltaic panel; a first fluid container thermally attached to a bottom of the photovoltaic panel; and a temperature sensor for sensing temperature of a fluid inside the first fluid container is part of a sub-system for a power generation system using solar energy. The sub-system further includes a heating assembly, including a second fluid container, a second temperature sensor, and an electrical heating element. The second fluid container is fluidically connected to the first fluid container. The heating element is configured to heat the pre-heated fluid in the second fluid container to its vapor state. The sub-system additionally includes a turbine generator fluidically connected to the second fluid container to generate AC power from the vapor. A system employing a plurality of sub-systems and a method for using the sub-systems are also provided.

摘要: The current document is directed to digital-image-normalization methods and systems that generate accurate intensity mappings between the intensities in two digital images. The intensity mapping generated from two digital images is used to normalize or adjust the intensities in one image in order to produce a pair of normalized digital images to which various types of change-detection methodologies can be applied in order to extract differential data. Accurate intensity mappings facilitate accurate and robust normalization of sets of multiple digital images which, in turn, facilitates many additional types of operations carried out on sets of multiple normalized digital images, including change detection, quantitative enhancement, synthetic enhancement, and additional types of digital-image processing, including processing to remove artifacts and noise from digital images.

摘要: The current application is directed to methods and systems that provide an information market in which information producers sell information, advertisers purchase consumption of advertisements, and information consumers purchase information from information producers and receive compensation from advertisers through automated and semi-automated information-market transactions. The information market provides a transaction-based marketplace for the provision and consumption of information in much the same way as various types of financial markets provide a marketplace for cost-effective exchange of goods and services. The transaction-based information market provides flexibility and control to both information providers and information consumers as well as the cost efficiency of a transaction-based information marketplace.

摘要: This disclosure is directed to systems and methods for analyzing target materials of a suspension include a tube and a float. The float may include expandable portions. The system traps a target analyte between the expandable float and the tube and/or to create a seal between the expandable float and the tube to inhibit fluid from flowing past the expandable float in the tube. The expandable portions may radially expand when exposed to an expanding fluid, such that the expanding fluid is not a naturally-occurring constituent of the suspension; or, the expandable portions may radially expand when a force is exerted upon the expandable portion. A tube may include expandable portions that expand towards the float.
