The surge protection circuit includes an input port for receiving an input voltage; an energy release cell having a first terminal coupled to the input port, a second terminal coupled to ground, and a control terminal coupled to the input port via a first switch device and to the ground via a second switch device. The surge protection circuit is adapted to close the first switch device to enable a current to flow from the input port to ground through the release cell upon occurrence of a positive voltage surge and to close the second switch device to enable a current to flow from ground to the input port through the release cell upon occurrence of a negative voltage surge.

    摘要: A method for fabricating a magnetic tunneling junction (MTJ) structure is described. A MTJ film stack is deposited on a bottom electrode on a substrate. The MTJ film stack is first ion beam etched (IBE) using a first angle and a first energy to form a MTJ device wherein conductive re-deposition forms on sidewalls of the MTJ device. Thereafter, the conductive re-deposition is oxidized. Thereafter, the MTJ device is second ion beam etched (IBE) at a second angle and a second energy to remove oxidized re-deposition.

    摘要: A hydraulic machine comprising a rotary toroidal piston chamber with two or more stationary pistons, which are provided to operate in such chamber, and having input and output ports for each piston provides a bidirectional motor or pump operable with high constant torque and high efficiency. Radially movable gates provide closed sections of the piston chamber and open to allow continuous rotation in one direction without reciprocating pistons or cranking mechanism. Rotation of the chamber is achieved by reaction to the force of hydraulic pressure on the pistons. A rotary piston chamber with four stationary pistons, operating as a four piston hydraulic motor simultaneously driving itself as a two piston pump functions as a pressure multiplier providing output pressure higher than the input pressure. Uses include sump pump, pumped energy storage and hydroelectric power generation.

    摘要: A linear regulator with indirect leakage compensation is presented. The regulator has a pass device coupled between an input voltage and an output node, a feedback loop for controlling the pass device based on a reference voltage and a feedback voltage that depends on an output voltage, an off-state device that is kept in the off-state, and a leakage compensation circuit for sinking a leakage compensation current from the output node, in dependence on a leakage current of the off-state device. The off-state device is coupled between the leakage compensation circuit and an intermediate voltage level of the linear regulator. The intermediate voltage level is a voltage level between the input voltage level and ground, with a magnitude of the intermediate voltage level being smaller than a magnitude of the input voltage level. A corresponding method of operating a linear regulator with leakage compensation is presented.
