The exterior film includes between 50% and 100% polyolefin-based polymers, by weight. The inner layer includes between 60% and 100% of polypropylene polymer, by weight. The inner layer further includes a thickness between 100 microns and 350 microns. The printed pigment layer and the adhesive layer are located between the exterior film and the inner layer.

The retort packaging film has a total composition including high levels of polyolefin-based polymers and polypropylene-based polymers such that the material can be processed efficiently in a polypropylene recycling process. Advantageously, the film retains the properties required to suitably withstand the retort process and produce a high-quality shelf-stable packaged product.

摘要: A process for producing an adhesive-free laminate is described herein. The process includes printing an ink on a surface of a first film, exposure of the printed film to UV radiation such that the ink is at least partially cured, contacting the first film to a second film such that the ink is between the first and second film, and exposing the combination of the first film, the ink and the second film to a second UV radiation. It has been found that this process can produce a high-quality laminate, without the presence of an adhesive.

摘要: This disclosure concerns a barrier packaging film including a polyolefin substrate layer having a thickness in the range of from 10 μm to 100 μm, an inorganic coating layer, and a polymeric buffer layer positioned between the polyolefin substrate and the inorganic coating layer, the polymeric buffer layer in direct contact with the inorganic coating layer, wherein the inorganic coating layer comprises a wave structure characterized by an average amplitude in the range of from 0.25 μm to 1.0 μm and a wavelength in the range of from 2 μm to 5 μm. Also disclosed are packages (e.g., hermetically sealed packages) formed from the barrier packaging film.
