Abstract:
A boutonniere holding assembly includes a looped adjustable material, a releasable locking mechanism to lock the looped material in any of a plurality of desired locations thereby allowing for a variety of size loops, and an attaching mechanism for attaching to fabric such as a pin. In a preferred embodiment, the looped material includes an inner ridged surface to increase the holding strength on the assembly.
Abstract:
A back stretching apparatus comprising: a seat; a shoulder/head rest; and back section, which is rotatably connected between the seat and shoulder/head rest, wherein the seat is configured to at least rotate backwards and to outwardly travel away from the shoulder/head rest, and wherein the shoulder/head rest is angled with respect to the seat and configured to advance at least linearly along this angle in tandem with the outward movement of the seat is described along with methods of its use. The methods comprise performing the steps of a user sitting on the seat of the apparatus, tilting the seat backwards to a tilted position, moving the seat outward when in this tilted position; and advancing the shoulder/head rest in tandem with the moving of the seat.
Abstract:
A litter lift that eliminates the need to bend over to clean out kitty litter by bringing the kitty litter up to a height that it can be easily changed. The litter lift is configured as a scissor lift and has two upper crossbars upon which a litter pan removably nests.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of a compound of formula (I) wherein R1 and R3 are as defined in the description and R2 is a phenyl group which is substituted with 2 or 3 C1-C6 alkoxy groups, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, or a solvate of the compound of formula (I) or of the salt thereof, for treatment of colorectal or gastric adenocarcinoma.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to recombinant viral vectors and methods of using the recombinant viral vectors to induce an immune response to influenza A viruses. The invention provides recombinant viral vectors based, for example, on the non-replicating modified vaccinia virus Ankara. When administered according to methods of the invention, the recombinant viral vectors are designed to be cross-protective and induce heterosubtypic immunity to influenza A viruses.
Abstract:
A context control interface may include a context name field that is arranged and configured to identify a working context, one or more attribute name fields that are configured to identify one or more attributes that define the working context and one or more attribute value fields that are arranged and configured to correspond to the attribute name fields and to define one or more values for the attribute name fields. The attribute name fields and the corresponding attribute value fields may be mapped to a first set of fields in a first application and may be mapped to second set of fields in a second application and the attributes and the values populate the first set of fields and the second set of fields such that the working context is persistent across the first application and the second application, where the first application differs from the second application.
Abstract:
In one aspect, the present invention provides isolated novel peptides that can be used to modulate innate immunity in a subject and/or for the treatment of an immune-related disorder, including treating and preventing infection by modulating innate immunity. Also provided are an agent reactive with the peptide, a pharmaceutical composition that includes the peptide, an isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding the peptide, a recombinant nucleic acid construct that includes the nucleic acid molecule, at least one host cell comprising the recombinant nucleic acid construct, and a method of producing the peptide using the host cell. The present invention further provides a method for treating and/or preventing infection in a subject by administering the peptide of the invention to the subject, thereby modulating innate immunity in the subject. Additionally, the present invention provides a method for predicting whether a subject would be responsive to treatment with a peptide of the invention.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a polymer material consisting of macromolecular chains bound by hydrogen bonds, wherein: the macromolecular chains consist of a polymer skeleton whereon is fixed by at least one covalent bond a modifying agent, the modifying agent comprising, assembled in a common molecule, one or more associative groups capable of being bound by hydrogen bonds and one or more reactive groups capable of forming covalent bonds with the polymer skeleton, at least one of the associative groups of the modifying agent is an imidazolidone heterocycle, the macromolecular chains bear on average, 1 to 10 imidazolidone groups per chain. The average number of imidazolidone groups to be introduced into the macromolecular chains depends both on the average mass of said chains and the final properties desired for the material.
Abstract:
A force sensing and exercise device for assessment and therapeutic usage is described herein. The force sensing device may include a registration plate, to form a ridge with a body part of a patient and provide a fixed point from which measurements are taken. The force sensing device allows for linear movement as a component of the measurement and the ability to vary exercise resistance continuously over an exercise range. Tactile and auditory feedback is provided to a patient to indicate than an exercise objective has been achieved.
Abstract:
An isolation mount comprises a hollow wedge shaped shell having an upper sloped surface and at least three sidewalls extending therefrom to join a surrounding flange. The wedge shaped shell is thermoformed from a rigid plastic material. The upper sloped surface may include stiffening ribs and the shell may include a ballast recess adapted to contain roofing ballast. The inner perimeter portion of a skirt membrane is secured to the surrounding flange and an outer perimeter portion of the skirt extends away from the surrounding flange and is securable to a surface. The inner perimeter portion may be sealed to the surrounding flange. The inner perimeter portion defines a skirt membrane opening leading into a hollow region of the shell such that multiple isolation mounts may be stacked together.
