摘要: A first light source producing a first light beam with a first intensity and a second light source producing a second light beam with a second intensity. A light filter device receives the first light beam and transmits a filtered portion of the first light beam. A first angling device reflects the filtered portion of the first light beam in a first angled direction and a second angling device reflects the second light beam in a second angled direction. A mirror receives and in turn reflects the filtered portion of the first light beam reflected by the first angling device and the second light beam reflected by the second angling device to form a converged light beam with a third intensity.

摘要: Illumination systems are described that can include one or more light sources, which can include LEDs, one or more lenses, and one or more optical fibers. A handheld, portable, and surgical intraocular illumination system is disclosed that is disposable, low-cost, and efficient. A surgeon can have direct control of turning the illuminator on and off and adjusting the intensity via a simple control ergonomically placed on the handpiece and/or voice activated control. A coupling is provided, such as through an endo-probe, which is coupled to the one or more light sources. A user input device can be included that is operable to transmit to a feedback controller a first signal based on a user-selected light intensity. The feedback controller can, in response to the first signal, transmit a second signal to the power source for altering the power provided by the power source to the illumination system.

摘要: The invention provides an insertion instrument and methods for rotatably inserting an insertable medical device into a target region of the body. In particular, the instrument can be used in a method for rotatably inserting a medical device having a helical shape into a portion of the eye. The instrument includes a distal portion with a securing member that can hold a portion of the device during the rotational insertion process, and an actuating member that can be triggered to gently release the device upon insertion of the device into the target site.

摘要: The indoor basketball game system includes a multi-paneled folding backboard with a basketball hoop disposed on it. A winged ball deflector is disposed on the ground adjacent the bottom of the backboard and inclined upwards on the board from the bottom edge to form a ball return feature. The ball return feature of the present system via the deflector allows repeated shooting without worrying about chasing down the ball after every shot. Folding side panels of the backboard pivot to provide blocking sides and stability to the backboard, and can be angled to allow the player to shoot from many different positions. The backboard and deflector can be collapsed for storage and transport.

摘要: A system, computer program and method for enabling wireless data synchronization between a client computer and a wireless device is provided. The client computer includes a client application, the wireless device includes a wireless application, and an intermediary server operable to connect to each of the client computer and the wireless device includes a server application and a server database. The client application includes an update management facility that is operable to enable a user of the client computer to: selectively determine one or more data objects on the database for synchronization as between the intermediary server and the wireless device; and to establish one or more parameters of synchronization as between the intermediary server and the wireless device. The client computer is operable to communicate the data objects to the intermediary server, which data objects are stored by the intermediary server to the server database. The wireless application is operable to poll the intermediary server for one or more updates including the data objects from the client computer and in response to such polling the intermediary server is operable to retrieve the data objects from the server database and communicate such data objects to the wireless device. The client application is further operable to map a database linked to the client computer to define target data for synchronization with the wireless device via the intermediary server.

摘要: Electric vitrectomy handpieces are provided. The handpiece includes a motor, a clutch mechanism, an oscillating drive mechanism, a cutting tip and a handle. The motor is attached to the clutch, and the clutch is attached to the oscillating drive mechanism. When the motor is operational, the clutch expands to engage the oscillating drive mechanism and the oscillating drive mechanism converts the rotational motion of the clutch to the reciprocating motion of the cutting tip. When the motor is at rest, the clutch retracts to allow aspiration.

摘要: Apparatus, systems, and devices are described that utilize an adjustable biological tissue cutting handpiece that is based on selectable settings. The biological tissue cutting handpiece includes a cutter tip that allows multiple duty cycles as well as multiple port configurations. For example, when working next to the retina, the port could be adjusted to be a smaller size, allowing delicate membrane dissection. When working near or in less sensitive tissue, e.g. the center of the eye, the port could be wide open. The port aperture size can be independent of cut speed, allowing a surgeon to work at high speed both next to the retina and away from the retina. High speeds have been shown to have increased tissue (e.g., vitreous) removal, e.g., in 25 and 23-gauge instruments. Duty cycle is not necessarily dependent on cut speed, allowing high cutter performance and varied flow characteristics.
