The element can be provided in a variety of shapes and sizes, and is at least partially encased within an inert and pliant encasing material. The encasing material is one that is adapted to be contiguous with the structure of the valve nozzle or backflow-resistant leaf structure, and may be used in combination with existing stents or an incorporated stent, including ones having a structure similar to conventional stents.

    摘要: An ATM Packet Access Gateway (ATM PAG) system manages an ATM bearer path extending between ATM endpoints participating, for example, in a VoATM call. The system includes an ATM PAG having a first ATM bearer connection termination for terminating a first bearer connection with a first ATM endpoint, and a second ATM connection termination for terminating a second bearer connection with a second ATM endpoint. A call control entity is associated with the ATM PAG and communicates call control instructions thereto. The call control instructions include instructions for logically concatenating the first and second ATM bearer connections into an active ATM bearer path extending between the first ATM endpoint and the second ATM endpoint. A Media Access Gateway (MAG) function of the ATM PAG is responsible for establishing the connections that form the ATM bearer path. An ATM switch function of the ATM PAG moves bearer traffic ATM packet payloads over the active ATM bearer path.

    摘要: A method for rendering water-insoluble materials water-soluble is provided. The method is useful for solubilizing substantially water-insoluble bioactive materials such as drugs. This is accomplished by forming a non-covalently bonded complex between the drug and a polyalkylene oxide polymer end capped with an alkyl or olefinic group which is soluble in both water and an organic solvent. This is carried out by combining the desired medicinal agent with the polymer is an organic solvent, removing the solvent and dissolving the complex in water or aqueous buffer. When the organic solvent is evaporated, a solid complex is recovered which is water-soluble. Methods of treatment with the complexes are also provided.
