摘要: The microwave oscillator, including a transistor (1), e.g. a field-effect transistor, includes a first resonating circuit (2) connected to a first terminal and a second resonating circuit (3) connected to a second terminal of said transistor, each resonating circuit including a microstrip (4,6), to which is coupled a dielectric resonator 5,7, both resonators of both resonating circuits being similar and operating at the same resonating frequency, third terminal of said transistor defining a power output. The oscillator provides two outputs of lower power but with a high Q.sub.ext, and an output of higher power with a medium Q.sub.ext.

摘要: A dielectric resonator oscillator utilizing transmission-type injection-locking for frequency stabilization is disclosed as including a transistor, two microstrip lines, and a dielectric resonator. One microstrip line is coupled to the transistor, while the other microstrip line receives the broadband signal. The dielectric resonator is positioned adjacent to and between the first and second microstrip lines and is operable for coupling an injection-locking signal into the transistor for locking the oscillation frequency of the oscillator. The two microstrip lines are preferably oriented at right angles so that various sizes of the dielectric resonator can be accommodated.

摘要: A switchable, parallel-feedback, multi-frequency dielectric resonator oscillator that generates microwave energy at any of several available frequencies is disclosed. The oscillator includes an amplifier that is operable for oscillation at a frequency determined by a parallel feedback dielectric resonator connected between its output and input terminals, and a switching circuit for selectively connecting any one of a plurality of dielectric resonators to the input terminal of the amplifier. The oscillation frequency of the oscillator is determined by a resonant frequency of whichever of the dielectric resonators is connected to the input terminal of the amplifier through the switching circuit.

The oscillator includes a transistor capable of driving a load coupled to a first port of the transistor, a reactive feedback element coupled to a second port of the transistor, a YIG resonator, and coupling means for coupling the YIG resonator to both a third port of the transistor and to the first port of the transistor.

摘要: A switchable microwave oscillator is disclosed that includes a quenching circuit for switching, attenuating, modulating, or otherwise controlling the output amplitude of frequency-stabilized, transistor-based, microwave-frequency oscillators. The quenching circuit includes a diode that is coupled to the transistor at the same port that reactive feedback is present, and includes diode biasing means for selectively applying a bias voltage to the diode. The quenching circuit selectively diverts some of the current flowing through the transistor of the oscillator to control the output thereof.

摘要: A switchable multi-frequency dielectric resonator oscillator that generates microwave energy at any of several available frequencies is disclosed. The oscillator includes a transistor that is operable for oscillation at a frequency determined by a feedback resonator connected to its control terminal, and switching means for selectively connecting any one of a plurality of feedback resonators to the control terminal of the transistor. The oscillation frequency of the oscillator is determined by the resonant frequency of whichever of the feedback resonators is connected to the control terminal of the transistor through the switching means. It is preferred to utilize dielectric resonators as the feedback resonators, a field effect transistor as the transistor, and PIN diodes as the switching means.
