Abstract: A method of generating a data record, which indicates a deviation of alternating current and/or AC voltage values present at a measurement location of a power supply system from their expected temporal profile. In order to enable such a deviation to be specified in an even more accurate manner, the following steps are carried out: measured values representing the alternating current and/or AC voltage values at the measurement location of the power supply system are recorded; an event signal is generated if the measured values deviate from their expected temporal profile; when an event signal is present, a set of state parameters which describe a state of the power supply system at the measurement location is determined from the measured values and from further measured values which follow the measured values during a predeterminable measurement period, and at least some of the state parameters in the set are assigned to an associated cause character string that indicates a cause of the deviation, and the data record is generated from at least the set of parameters and the cause character string. The invention also relates to an electrical field device and to a system for detecting the quality of electrical power from the power supply system.

Abstract: A method of detecting an abrupt variation in a periodic electrical quantity, where a criterion for the occurrence of the abrupt variation is formed from samples of the periodic quantity. To be able to carry out such a method in such a way that the abrupt variations in the periodic quantity can be detected with a high sensitivity, the periodic quantity is weighted in an FIR filter with a transfer function with a double zero position at the nominal frequency; the output signal of the FIR filter is monitored for whether it reaches a threshold indicating that an abrupt variation in the periodic quantity has occurred.

Abstract: A method for generating an error signal that characterizes a ground fault on a conductor between two conductor ends. A differential value is formed and the error signal is generated when the differential value meets a prescribed initiating condition. A first comparison value is determined for a selectable location on the conductor using at least one measured current and voltage value taken at a prescribed measurement point in time at one end of the conductor. The comparison value indicates the current or the voltage that should flow or be present at the selectable location in an error-free state. A second comparison value is determined for the selectable location on the conductor using at least one measured current or voltage value, taken at the prescribed measurement point in time at the other end of the conductor. The two comparison values are subjected to difference formation, forming the differential value.

Abstract: A field device, in particular a protective device for protecting, controlling or monitoring an electric switching or energy supply unit, has an access control device, controlling access to the field device. The access control device includes: a memory with access rights, roles and users stored therein, wherein each access right defines the access to at least one device value, one device parameter or one device function, one or more access rights are associated with each role, and one or more roles are associated with each user, and a control device suitable to prevent an access to a device value, a device parameter or a device function by a user when the respective user is not associated with a role with the access right required for the respective access. The control device has a test module that exclusively allows access by a user only if the access right that is required for the respective access and that is stored in the memory is provided with a valid electronic signature.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing at least one signal (oscillation signal), which indicates an oscillation in an electrical power supply system. In order to allow the oscillation behavior of an electrical power system to be detected safely and reliably at all times, an oscillation model is used which is formed from previous impedance values associated with the oscillation, or from variables dependent on these impedance values. A check is carried out to determine whether a further impedance value formed at that time or a variable which is dependent on this further impedance value differs from the oscillation model, and any occurrence of a further impedance value or of a variable dependent on this impedance value which differs from the oscillation model is assessed as the oscillation having stopped.
