    摘要: An environmentally acceptable and comparatively safe acid cleaning solution containing sulfuric acid, water and amine containing inhibitors that adequately remove oxidation or contaminants from surfaces without excessively damaging equipment. The sulfuric acid is effective in removing impurities and contaminants, while the amine moieties or amine salts reduce the otherwise damaging effect of sulfuric acid on equipment and on human skin and tissue.

    摘要: A metal treatment solution comprising an effective amount of a soluble or dispersible compound which is a derivative of a polyphenol. Novel derivatives of polyphenol compounds useful in the treatment of the surface of metal articles is provided. Novel surface treatment solutions or dispersions, and methods for using these solutions is provided. Carbohydrate-modified polyphenol compounds are utilized in the present invention. The molecular weight of the polyphenols used in the preperation of derivatives of the present invention are in the range of about 360 to about 30,000 or greater. The resulting derivatives will typically have a molecular weight of up to about 2,000,000 with molecular weight within the range of about 700 to about 70,000 being preferred.

    摘要: A metal surface is treated by contacting the surface with a solution comprising an effective amount of a soluble or dispersible treatment compound selected from the group consisting of a polymer having the following general formula, acid salts thereof, and mixtures thereof: ##STR1## where: R.sub.1 through R.sub.3 are hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 5 carbon atoms;each Y is hydrogen, Z, CR.sub.4 R.sub.5 OR.sub.6, CH.sub.2 Cl, or an alkyl or aryl group having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms;Z is ##STR2## R.sub.4 through R.sub.10 are hydrogen, or an alkyl, aryl, hydroxy-alkyl, amino-alkyl, mercapto-alkyl or phospho-alkyl moiety, said R.sub.4 through R.sub.10 being of carbon chain lengths up to a length at which the compound is not soluble or dispersible; andn is from 2 up to a number at which the polymer is not soluble or dispersible.Preferably, the solution is an aqueous solution and "Z" moieties are present in sufficient amount that the compound is water soluble or water dispersible. Metal surfaces contacted with the solution have enhanced corrosion resistance and paint adhesion characteristics.

The present invention comprises novel derivatives of polyphenol compounds useful in the treatment of the surface of metal articles. The present invention also encompasses novel surface treatment solutions or dispersions, and methos of using these solutions or dispersions. The compositions of the present invention include amine oxide containing polyphenol compounds and derivatives thereof. The molecular weight of the polyphenols used in derivatives of the present invention have molecular weights of from about 360 to about 30,000 or greater. The resulting derivatives of the present invention typically have a molecular weight of up to about 2,000,000 with molecular weights within the range of about 700 to about 70,000 being preferred.

The composition contains from about 0.5 to about 240 millimoles per kilogram of a fluorometallate ion, from about 0.5 grams/liters to about 10 grams/liter of phosphorous-containing inorganic oxy anions calculated at their stoichiometric equivalent as H3PO4; from about 0.05 g/l to about 3.5 g/l of hexavalent chromium and from about 0.10 g/l to about 2.20 g/l of trivalent chromium ions and a surfactant.
