The service destinations include a voice platform and a text message platform and the type of the information session is a voice session or a text message session. The processor is also configured to initiate the information session between the communication device and the one destination.

    摘要: A wireless control system for managing traffic in a multi-band wireless network is disclosed. The wireless control system configured to receive measurements that indicate channel performance information and round trip delay information for wireless communication devices operating within a first frequency band of the multi-band wireless network, process the channel performance information and the round trip delay information to determine a probability of successful frequency transfer, identify a subset of the wireless communication devices with probabilities of successful transfer that exceed a transfer threshold, and remove from the subset wireless communication devices whose velocity exceeds a movement threshold. The wireless control system also receives loading information for the first frequency band, processes the loading information to determine if the loading information exceeds an offload threshold, and if so then identifies a first wireless communication device from the modified subset of the plurality of wireless communication devices and transfers an instruction to modify an operating frequency of the first wireless communication device from the first frequency band to the second frequency band.

The method further includes determining a communication load in a portion of the home wireless network that is proximate to the location of the roaming wireless communication device and processing the communication load to determine if a home network rescan timer in the wireless communication device should be increased. If the home network rescan timer in the wireless communication device should be increased, the method further comprises transferring a first message for delivery to the wireless communication device indicating an increase to the home network rescan timer.

    摘要: An antenna mount for mounting radio antennas on a communications tower is described. The antenna mount includes a ring structure that encircles the tower and includes a channel disposed about its outer perimeter. The channel is configured to receive a plurality of antenna carriages upon which antennas are mounted on a first end. A second end of the antenna carriage is disposed in the channel and is slideably movable along the length of the channel about the perimeter of the ring structure. The antenna is thus aimable in any desired azimuthal direction by moving the antenna along the ring structure. Bands for communication of data, power, control signaling, and propulsion of the antenna carriages about the ring structure are disposed in the channel. The ring structure may include a junction that allows reorientation of antennas with respect to one another.

In a particular embodiment, a method comprises determining locations of the wireless communication device and detecting performance conditions when the wireless communication device transitions between communicating with a home wireless network and a visited wireless network. The method further comprises correlating the performance conditions to the corresponding locations of the wireless communication device and processing the correlated performance conditions and corresponding locations to determine a geographic area having performance issues when transitioning between communicating with the home wireless network and the visited wireless network. If the wireless communication device communicates with the visited wireless network when in the geographic area, then the method provides increasing the home wireless network rescan timer.
