    摘要: The flow controller has a closure member of adjustable throughflow cross-section arranged on a storage bin or a gravity discharge pipe, and a regulating drive for regulating the through-flow cross-section. An inclined impact plate is secured on a first lever arm of a balance beam, in downwardly spaced relation to the closure member, so that the impact force on the plate, due to deflection thereby of the product falling through a given distance, is proportional to the actual value of the flow rate as expressed as quantity by weight per unit of time. The balance beam is pivotally connected intermediate its ends to a fixed frame and has at least one counter weight on a second lever arm, and an ajustable force-producing device acts on the balance beam in opposition to the impact force to regulate the throughflow cross-section. The deviation between the desired and actual values of the flow rate of the product, resulting from the interaction between the impact force and the force-producing device, is converted into a corresponding positive or negative pressure signal serving as a regulating signal for the regulating drive. An auxiliary beam is pivotally connected separately to the fixed frame, and the adjustable force-producing device loads the auxiliary beam. A supporting edge is mounted on the auxiliary beam for adjustment longitudinally thereof in engagement with the second lever arm of the balance beam to transmit to the latter a precisely balanced proportion of the load produced by the adjustable force-producing means, indicative of the desired value of flow rate of the product, and acting in opposition to the impact force. The adjustable force-producing device may comprise a weight movable longitudinally of the auxiliary beam in cooperation with a percentage scale, or a pressure responsive diaphragm element acting on the auxiliary beam through a lever arm extending therefrom, and the diaphragm element may be adjustable longitudinally of the auxiliary beam. Several such flow controllers may be individually adjustable with respect to different products and controlled from a central station.

    摘要: An aperture, in a rigid housing enclosing a space or volume, is closed by utilizing a cover opening under explosive pressure and cooperating with the housing. The cover is maintained closed by exerting, between the cover and the housing, an elastic holding force which collapses abruptly to zero value on being overcome by explosive pressure within the housing. The cover may be hinged to the housing and may be provided with detent means for releasably latching it in the closed position. Where the housing aperture is of substantial size, two such covers may be used.

    摘要: Control system for pneumatic control of a cleaning arrangement for dust filters wherein a plurality of tubular filter elements are cleaned by a blast of air forced through the filter elements successively and in the direction reverse to that of filtering air flow. A plurality of quick-opening valves are operatively connected to outlet ports in a housing defining a pressure chamber. An arm is movably mounted in the chamber and has an air passage therethrough from its inner end to its outer end, the outer end being movable over the outlet ports in succession. The arm is moved intermittently by pneumatically operated means including an actuator movable alternately in opposite directions. The inner end of the air passage communicates with a pneumatically operated control valve that is disposed in a pneumatic control circuit including other valve mechanisms operated responsive to movement of the actuator in opposite directions to open and close the pneumatically operated valve, to respectively permit a corresponding quick-opening valve to open, and to seal off the chamber from atmosphere during movement of the arm from one outlet port to the next succeeding outlet port.

    摘要: A device for the continuous thermal treatment of a granular material by means of a gas comprises a container having an inlet for the granular material which opens into a chamber arranged above a stationary gas-permeable material support which may be in the form of an inclined perforated wall. The container includes walls around the support, one of which at least includes a material outlet, for example, which is arranged at the lower end of the support. A gas is directed upwardly against the support at a plurality of separated areas in a flow stream which is regulated to maintain the material in a homogeneous loose fluid bed above the support. Means are provided at the outlet for effecting an infinitely vertically adjustable overflow. A throttling device is arranged in the flow paths of the fluid at a location before the support in order to selectively vary the velocity of gas flowing through the support and along the feed travel of the fluid bed of granular material. In accordance with the method of the invention, the granular material is directed into the chamber above the stationary support and the overflow to the outlet is set at a predetermined level. Thereafter, a treatment gas is directed through at least two distinct paths alternately upwardly through separate divided portions of this support. The gas flow is controlled so that there is an alternate flow first to one side and then to another side of the fluid bed and thence outwardly through the outlet along with the granular material which moves over the bed level.

    摘要: In a method of milling pasty material, such as chocolate, having a tendency to separate out components, between one or more pairs of cooperating friction rollers associated with a pouring trough receiving the material from a supply device which can be blocked from the trough in a controlled manner in dependence on the extent to which the trough is filled with material, both the level of the material in the trough and the flow of the material into the trough are sensed in a coordinated manner and the blocking of the supply device is controlled in accordance with such sensing. The apparatus includes two feeling or sensing levers fixed to oscillate as a unit, these levers being counterbalanced in one direction. When the slide controlling blocking of the supply device is opened, the material moving into the trough engages one of the levers to swing both levers against the bias of the counterweight, moving the other lever into a position where it senses the level of the material in the trough at the nip between two cooperating friction rollers. This provides a control signal resulting in closing of the slide or gate of the supply device. When the level of the material at the nip between the two rollers falls below a predetermined point, the material disengages the other lever and the counterweight swings both levers back to a position where a control means is operated to reopen the slide controlling discharge from the supply device into the trough.

    摘要: A cold chamber pressure casting machine includes a mold charge injector, a melting or heat retaining crucible and a piston pump extending into the crucible and connected to the injector, the piston pump having a pump chamber communicating with a feed opening which is beneath the level of melt in the crucible. A displacement means is operatively associated with the melt in the crucible to control the level thereof, and a control means controls operation of the displacement means. A melt level feeler is positioned in the crucible in the range of the melt surrounding the piston pump, and influences operation of the control means. The displacement means may comprise a solid body which may be inserted into or retracted from the melt, or may comprise an inverted bell means connected to a source of fluid under pressure and communicating with the melt in the crucible. A float may be provided in the bell. The melt level feeler may comprise one or more electrodes, a pressure responsive means connected to a pressure fluid type operator of a control valve, or a float operated switch.
