    摘要: A bumper system includes a crossbeam having ends constructed to form attachment zones, and two crash boxes which are secured to side rails of a motor vehicle and coupled to the attachment zones, respectively. The crossbeam has a front wall, a rear wall, and an inner wall which extends between the front and rear walls along a major length of the crossbeam. The inner wall is hereby recessed to leave a gap in the area of the attachment zones.

    摘要: A safety device for a motor vehicle includes a deformation element which is arranged between a bumper beam and a side rail and moves into the side rail in the event of an impact. The deformation element is configured in the form of an evertable tubular member having a side-rail-proximal rear end provided with an abutment ring. Operatively connected to the deformation element is an actuator which is provided to release a displacement of the deformation element into the side rail in a predefined speed range by liberating the abutment ring in relation to the side rail in a release position, and to block the displacement of the deformation element into the side rail, when the speed range is exceeded or a vehicle speed is below the speed range, by locking the abutment ring in relation to the side rail in an engagement position.

The bumper member that is made from steel has a zinc coating on at least the joint area thereof. A braze weld fixedly connects the crush boxes to the cross-member along associated joints.

    摘要: A steel part with regions of different ductility is made by first loading the part onto a heatable rack and then heating the rack with the part on it in a furnace to a temperature above the AC3 point of the part. The part is then removed from the rack and loaded while still above the AC3 point into a press where it is shaped and hardened. In the press the part is engaged by tools that deform it and that cool it quickly to well below the AC3 point. Finally, before the rack has cooled substantially, the shaped and hardened part is taken out of the press and placed on the rack with predetermined regions of the part in heat-conducting engagement with the rack such that the ductility of the predetermined regions is increased by transfer of the residual heat from the rack to the predetermined regions.

    摘要: A bumper for the front or rear section of a motor vehicle includes a cross member having a shell of U shaped cross section so as to define two legs interconnected by a crosspiece, and a mounting plate joined to the shell. The mounting plate has a U shaped configuration to define a longitudinal wall and two flanged portions which extend from the wall in a direction of the shell so that passageways are formed between the legs of the shell and the flanged portions of the mounting plate. A buffer is disposed anteriorly of the cross member and constructed for a snap fit to the mounting plate, with the buffer having spring legs for acceptance in the passageways.

    摘要: A bumper for an automobile includes a crossbeam which is formed from at least two separate hollow profiles, wherein the hollow profiles abut one another along a longitudinal wall and are joined with one another. The abutting longitudinal walls form a double web oriented in the longitudinal direction of the automobile. The hollow profiles may have an identical cross-sectional configuration. The hollow profiles may be roll-formed or extruded. The modular construction of the crossbeam from separate hollow profiles allows a lightweight construction and allows the load characteristic of the crossbeam to be functionally adapted to different requirements depending on the vehicle or vehicle class.
