摘要: A bumper arrangement for a motor vehicle, having an upper main cross member, which is able to be coupled via crash boxes to the motor vehicle, and a lower auxiliary cross member, wherein the main cross member and auxiliary cross member are coupled together via vertical struts. The main cross member and/or the auxiliary cross member and/or the vertical element are supported on the crash box and/or on a longitudinal member via at least one additional support element oriented in the direction of the motor vehicle, wherein the support element is configured in one piece and in a single material with the main cross member or the auxiliary cross member or the vertical element.

摘要: A vehicle bumper device includes: (i) a bumper beam formed of a continuous fiber reinforced plastic and including (a) a central portion that extends in a vehicle width direction and (b) a left-right pair of lateral portions that respectively extend from opposite ends of the central portion and curve toward a vehicle body; and (ii) bumper auxiliary portions formed of a short fiber reinforced plastic different from the continuous fiber reinforced plastic and protruding respectively from the lateral portions outward in a vehicle front-rear direction. The bumper beam defines an upper surface section, a lower surface section, a collision load receiving section that faces outward in the vehicle front-rear direction and a vehicle body attachment section that has an opening oriented toward the vehicle body, and has an approximately U-shaped cross section. The lateral portions each have at least one ridgeline defined by a surface step formed on the upper surface section or the lower surface section. The ridgeline extends between the collision load receiving section and the vehicle body attachment section.

摘要: A vehicle underbody assembly may include a pair of front rails, a pair of hinge pillars, a pair of crush cans, a pair of bumper supports, and a bumper. Each of the front rails includes a front portion, a mid-portion, and a backup portion. Each of the hinge pillars may be attached to one of the backup portions. Each of the crush cans may be attached to one of the front portions. Each of bumper supports may be secured to one of the crush cans. The bumper may be attached to the bumper supports. The front portions and the backup portions may be heat treated to have a higher strength than the mid-portions. Each of the front portions and the backup portions may be heated to define a hard strength zone and the mid-portion may be heated to define a medium strength zone.

摘要: An impact absorber includes an energy absorbing member that is formed of a composite material and absorbs impact energy by crushing in a predetermined crush direction, an outer tube member surrounding the periphery of the energy absorbing member over the energy absorbing member along the crush direction to prevent foreign objects from entering or impacting the energy absorbing member, and a pressing member in contact with the front end of the energy absorbing member and the front end of the outer tube member to press the energy absorbing member and the outer tube member simultaneously in the crush direction to thereby crush them. The outer tube member formed in a shape in which tubular portions are coupled in the crush direction, and is crushed in the crush direction while the tubular portions are regularly folded when the outer tube member is pressed by the pressing member in the crush direction.

摘要: A formed member is provided which can be manufactured at a low cost, which has excellent dimensional accuracy, which has excellent axial crushing properties and three-point bending properties, which has excellent bending stiffness and torsional stiffness, and which is suitable for use in a component of an automobile. The formed member (20) has a reinforcing member (35) which is joined by a weld (40) provided on a ridge portion (28). It is manufactured by joining a flat sheet blank and a flat sheet reinforcing member (35) by a weld (40) and performing bending so that the weld (40) becomes a ridge portion (28).

摘要: A bumper system including a bumper beam being cast from metal having a front panel and a back panel, extending between a first bumper beam end and a second bumper beam end. A plurality of reinforcing ribs integrally cast with the bumper beam extends between the front panel and the back panel defining a non-uniform cross-sectional profile along a portion of the bumper beam. The front panel includes a front center portion disposed between a pair of front side portions. The back panel includes a back center portion disposed between a pair of back side portions. The front center portion has a front center portion thickness greater than a back center portion thickness. Each of the front side portions has a front side portion thickness being less than a back side portion thickness of adjacent one of the back side portions. Method of manufacturing the bumper system is provided.

摘要: A bumper module for a vehicle includes at least one shaped part that is unitarily deep-drawn from a sheet material. The shaped part has two connecting flanges facing a back side for fastening to side members of the vehicle and an arch which is pre-curved towards a front side connecting the connecting flanges. At least in lateral portions of the arch, the sheet material is laid into folds, which are elongated from the back side towards the front side.

摘要: A method of managing collisions, the method comprising: identifying a first crash structure (22) and determining an initial stiffness of the crash structure; determining a level of aggressivity of the collision based on the predicted energy absorption for each vehicle; identifying a first crash structure whose stiffness can be adjusted, and determining a subsequent stiffness value for the crash structure based on the determined amount of energy to be absorbed by each of the vehicles such that the energy absorbed by the crash structure is changed and the level of aggressivity is reduced; and stiffening the first crash structure to the determined stiffness value.

摘要: An energy absorber includes a main body of a closed cross-sectional structure formed by injection-molding a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic and having a weld line formed thereon. The main body has openings defined in opposite ends thereof, each of the openings being of a polygonal shape. The weld line is formed on a side surface of the main body. A tilt angle of the weld line is set to a value in a range from −35° to 35° with respect to a reference line interconnecting midpoints on opposite sides of the side surface that are located at the opposite ends of the main body.
