    摘要: Newly formed articles of glassware are continuously fed single file and in longitudinally spaced relationship on a conveyor, and groups of them are pushed diagonally toward one edge of the conveyor, and thence laterally across a deadplate onto a wider lehr conveyor, by a horizontally extending pusher bar which is pendulously mounted on a pair of depending parallel arms. The arms are pivotally mounted on a reciprocable carriage, and as so supported the pusher bar swings through an arc during forward movement of the carriage. In spite of being pendulously supported on these arms the pusher bar is restrained to movement in a horizontal plane during forward movement of the carriage by providing a non-linear carriage track, so shaped as to raise and lower the pivotally mounted arms as the pusher bar swings through its arc. Each arm has a spur gear which meshes with a rack gear slidably mounted in the carriage for movement of a cross-slide perpendicularly with respect to the forward direction of movement of the carriage. A cam follower is connected to the rack gear and engages a fixed cam to move the rack gear in timed relationship with forward movement of the carriage to achieve the diagonal motion of the pusher bar. An air motor is used as an air spring to urge the cam follower into an active position in engagement with the fixed cam, and said motor is also sued to move the cam follower from its engaged position to a disengaged position thereby sliding the rack gear through a substantial angle so as to raise the pusher bar during return movement of the carriage.

The assembly includes a stationary tube holder assembly which has elongated horizontally extending arm for supporting a tube at one end and a counterweight at the other, a revolving rotor assembly which has an elongated horizontally extending arm for supporting a rotor at one end and a counterweight at the other, and a compound X, Y, slide assembly.A vertical spacer is secured between the compound X, Y slide assembly and the elongated tube holder assembly arm for supporting the stationary tube holder assembly. The spacer includes a jack screw for elevating the tube holder assembly relative to the compound X, Y slide assembly.A vertical post is secured at its bottom end to the compound X, Y slide assembly, and at its top slidingly extends through an extended bushing in the stationary tube holder assembly arm. The post additionally is interconnected with this rotor assembly and can raise or lower this assembly.

    摘要: This relates to improvements in drives for shears, particularly shears for severing gobs from a glass runner. All of the drives incorporate a drive pinion for reciprocating racks which are secured to slides of the shear. The pinion is rotated first in one direction and then in the opposite direction to cause the blades of the shear to first move together and shear a gob, and then move back to the original position. Suitable reversing motors may be utilized, including an electrical servomotor or suitable hydraulic motor. On the other hand, the drive motor may be of the unidirectional type and an oscillating drive member may be incorporated in the drive system for converting the one-directional drive of the motor to an oscillating or reversing output. In addition, the drive of the pinion may be supplemented by a double-acting air motor which is connected to one of the racks. The air motor or cylinder will provide the primary motor power for the shear, but the velocity thereof will be controlled by the servomotor or like motor which is connected to the pinions through a nonreversing drive.

    摘要: A glass feeder plunger operating mechanism driven by an electric motor controlled by a programmable computer programmed to drive the motor in a predetermined manner in order to generate a predetermined motion profile of one or more glass feeder plungers. The plungers are secured to the end of a cantilevered lateral support bracket which is cyclically and vertically reciprocated by cyclical oscillations of the electric motor. The output shaft of the motor is connected to a ball screw in threaded engagement with a ball nut which is secured to a member connected to the plunger support bracket. The plunger support bracket is attached to a moveable vertical support shaft which maintains plunger alignment during the range of motion. The operating mechanism is attached to a frame which is adjustable in two dimensions to facilitate alignment of the plungers with their respective orifices. Air cylinders are provided to counter-balance the weight of the members being vertically reciprocated. Overload means is provided to limit plunger damage in the event excessive operating forces are encountered. Various sensor switches and adjusting means are disclosed to facilitate plunger alignment and control.
