    摘要： Apparatus for manufacturing glass tumblers or other glass articles which is positioned in a manufacturing line to receive the glass articles after they have been shaped by a forming machine and to complete the articles by cracking-off unwanted portions. The machine includes an aligning and feeding means, a main crack-off turret, and annealing and cooling means. The articles are fed in upright position to the crack-off turret and the unneeded portion or moil is cracked-off or removed from the lower portion of the article by a combined heating and impacting operation. After the moil is removed on the turret, the newly formed edges of the glass vessel are smoothed or polished and the article is then tempered and cooled.

    摘要： A lehr loading apparatus transfers glassware articles emerging single file from a forming apparatus onto a lehr belt in successive rows. Glassware is discharged onto a take-off conveyor from the forming apparatus and is transferred in separate takeoff cycles to a cross conveyor by a take-off pusher operating in response to the discharge of ware from the forming apparatus. A second pusher, operating in response to a predetermined number of take-off cycles, gently engages and transfers a row of ware from the cross conveyor onto the lehr belt. After a forward transfer motion, the second pusher dwells to allow the transferred ware to clear, then is lifted and returned to its start position. An improved releasable crank and lever drive is provided to insure a smooth gentle transfer stroke and eliminate damage. Various operating parameters are adjustable during operation of the loader to accommodate ware of varying shapes and sizes. Extreme fine tuning is accomplished through such adjustments and unstable ware is effectively handled.

    摘要： An improved article transfer and feeding apparatus is described for transferring articles such as glass containers or the like from a row conveyor into spaced work stations on a rotating turret as might be used, for example, in a glass tumbler crackoff machine. The improved transfer means includes a narrow conveyor which receives the rows of articles from the row conveyor and which intermittently carries these articles to a transfer wheel which passes them onto a single line article spacing conveyor including spacing wheels. Means are provided at the exit in the spacing conveyor including a second transfer wheel for moving the articles into the spaced work stations on the rotating turret.
