A method of reconstructing optical tissues of an eye comprises transmitting an image through the optical tissues of the eye. The surface gradients from the transmitted image are measured across the optical tissues of the eye. A Fourier transform algorithm is applied to the surface gradients to reconstruct an optical surface model that corresponds to the optical tissues of the eye.

    摘要: The instant invention provides a quick release insulator for receiving and insulating a male or female electrical spade terminal when not in use. The insulator includes a substantially cylindrical housing. The housing has a first fiat end and a second flat end and at least one slot passing through the first flat end. A metal spring is positioned within the housing. The spring has a first end for abutting against the flat surface within the housing nearest the second flat end and a second end with a substantially flat pressure plate mounted on it for biasing the exposed end of the terminal when it is inserted through the slot.

    摘要: A computer indicated lens movement direction protocol is utilized in combination with a lensmeter to designate required movement of lenses with respect to a lensmeter to insure sequential measurement of progressive addition lenses. Lens measurement occurs at four sample points closely spaced on the lens surface. The system uses power variations (PV.sub.1 and PV.sub.2) at each of the spaced apart lens sampling points to indicate when sampling of the lens occurs in a region of constant spherical power, when sampling of the lens occurs in a region of changing spherical power, and finally when sampling again occurs in a region of constant and increased spherical power. When sampling of the lens occurs in a region of changing power, lens movement is guided along a path of constantly changing sphere utilizing changes in astigmatism measured in the 45.degree.-135.degree. directions (C.sub.X). A lens examination protocol is set forth with vector indicators setting forth the vertical direction required for movement as well as both desired left and right movement to maintain the shortest possible path between the respective lens portions.

    摘要: A soft contact lens container is disclosed for the immersion, preservation, optical measurement, shipping and dispensing of soft contact lenses. The container has an overall cylindrical shape with the cylinder sidewalls divided into mating portions for confining the soft contact lens as well as a liquid saline preservative solution. The cylinder ends are each closed by identical frustrated cones, each cone intruding from the cylinder end and into the cylindrical volume interior of the container. The respective cones from each cylinder end are frustrated by optical flats and confront one another with a small spatial separation so that the soft contact lens is trapped therebetween. Cylinder diameter is chosen to restrict the soft contact lens from passing between the two optical flats of the cone frustrum. In operation, one cylindrical section is filled with soft contact lens saline solution. A soft contact lens is immersed in the solution and the case closed with the remaining and confronting cylindrical lens portion. When equilibrium between the saline solution and soft contact lens is reached, measurement of the lens is made through the optical flats of the container, this measurement being the optical power of the lens or inside curvature of the lens. The container forms a convenient shipping media, minimizes the distorting effect of gravity on the soft contact lens, maintains the required saline solution as well as provides a shockproof environment for lens shipment.

    摘要: The present invention provides methods, systems and software for scaling optical aberration measurements of optical systems. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of reconstructing optical tissues of an eye. The method comprises transmitting an image through the optical tissues of the eye. Aberration data from the transmitted image is measured across the optical tissues of the eye at a first plane. A conversion algorithm is applied to the data, converting it to corrective optical power data that can be used as a basis for constructing a treatment for the eye at a second plane.
