A mixture of yellowish green-to-yellow emitting, gold- and aluminum-activated zinc sulfide and blue-emitting silveractivated zinc sulfide, in which the weight ratio of the latter to the former is within a range of 0.7 to 1.30, is valuable as a white-emitting phosphor for black and white television. When at least one red-emitting phosphor selected from europium-activated yttrium oxysulfide, europium-activated yttrium oxide and europium-activated yttrium vanadate is incorporated into the above white-emitting phosphor, the resulting composite can cover a more wide white region for black and white television.

This invention relates to a thermosetting composition obtained by polymerizing in an organic liquid (1) a copolymerizable unsaturated monomer having a latent isocyanate group and being capable of releasing a free isocyanate group under heating and/or (2) an Alpha , Beta -ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of (3) a component solvated in said organic liquid, at least one of said monomer (2) and said component (3) having a latent isocyanate group capable of releasing a free isocyanate group under heating and at least one of said monomers (1) and (2) and component (3) having an active hydrogen atom; a powdery coating composition prepared from said thermosetting composition by spray drying; and a process for the production of such coating compositions.

This invention relates to a stable dispersion of a synthetic polymer in an oil medium for paints or sealants, which comprises (A) an oil medium capable of dissolving a monomer but incapable of dissolving a polymer formed from the monomer and (B) a polymer component obtained by block- or graft-copolymerization of a part of the oil medium (A) with a monomer copolymerizable with the oil medium (A), the weight ratio of component (A)/component (B) being from 25/75 to 95/5, and the invention also relates to a process for the preparation of such polymer dispersion.

When a metal surface treating agent consisting of a zinc phosphate comprising given amounts of water-soluble aluminum, arsenic and fluorine compounds added thereto is employed as pretreatment before electrophoretic painting, the dissolving quantity of the phosphating coating is reduced, and it results in formation of a uniform electrodeposition-coated film which has excellent corrosion resistance and is free from rough surface; moreover, as the paint is not contaminated, the paint can be stable for a long time. Finish of the electrodeposition coating can be also improved by using pretreatment prepared by adding further a small amount of Te and/or Bi.
