    Abstract: Valve assemblies with butterfly valves for use as a double isolation & bleed (DIB) valve and a double block & bleed (DBB) valve. The embodiments may have a twin-disc design with a non-separable, valve body having a central bore. A pair of butterfly valves may reside in the central bore, each having an annular seal and a rotatable disc that contacts the annular seal to prevent flow of fluid into space between the butterfly valves. Implementations of the embodiments configure the annular seal with a sloped contact surface at an angle to positively seal the rotatable discs in the preferred direction of incoming flow. In this way, the valves can always close in response to either uni-directional flow into one end of the central bore or bi-directional flow into both ends of the central bore, respectively or simultaneously.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a directional valve assembly that provides a single device with functionality of a two-position design for automated operation and functionality of a three-position design for manual operation. The embodiments can include a housing with a piston chamber and a spool member that transits in the housing to regulate the flow of a working fluid to a cylinder. The embodiments can also have one or more pilot operators that regulate the flow of pilot air into the piston chamber to move the spool member between two positions, i.e., two open positions. The embodiments can also have a manual operator (e.g., a lever) that can move the spool to the open positions and to a closed position. In one embodiment, the spool member is configured to remain in either a first position, a second position, or a third position in the absence of an outside stimulus on the pilot operators.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a force generating element that can broaden the application of valves and, in particular, pilot-operated valves to include applications that have extreme operating temperatures. These improvements forgo use of o-rings (and like elastomeric devices) in lieu of more durable and robust seals (e.g., metal-to-metal contact). Rather, as discussed more below, the valves incorporate a force generating element that ensures contact between components to form appropriate seals that allow the cylinder to maintain pressure, despite dimensional changes in the structure of the valve.

    Abstract: A pumping device configured to directly drive a reciprocating member to pump a fluid. In one embodiment, the pumping device comprises a body forming an internal chamber. The reciprocating member may be disposed in the body, the reciprocating member having a first end, a second end, and an axis. The embodiment may further include a drive system magnetically coupled with the reciprocating member, the drive system comprising a first conductive body affixed relative to the reciprocating member. The drive system may be configured to induce a first magnetic field by energizing the first conductive body. The reciprocating member may be configured to induce a second magnetic field in a manner that causes the reciprocating member to move between a first position and a second position to fill and evacuate the internal chamber with a fluid.
