Abstract:
A dual-inlet turbocharger system for internal combustion engine includes a single-shaft turbocharger with a dual-inlet compressor section. An air router provides a bifurcated air supply for the dual-inlet compressor section, and also provides a bifurcated source of charge air for the engine's cylinders in the case in which the present turbocharger system is applied to a V-block engine.
Abstract:
An induction system for an internal combustion engine includes an upper intake for receiving air from a supply, such as a turbocharger, and a lower intake which combines a cylinder valve actuator cover, a plenum for receiving air from the upper intake, and a number of intake runners which extend across, an integrally with, the cylinder valve actuator cover to cylinder head intake ports which are configured at outboard sides of the engine cylinder head.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a method, apparatus and computer program for determining which resource manager of a plurality of resource managers an application may be connected to, given a connection request. A connection request is received which specifies a connection scope. The connection scope specifies the desired proximity of a suitable resource manager relative to the application's location. The application's location is determined and so are any resource managers that satisfy the connection request. The connection requester is then informed of at least one resource manager which satisfies the connection request.
Abstract:
An air inlet system for an internal combustion engine includes an inlet duct for furnishing air to the engine's cylinders, and a combination port formed within the inlet duct for inducting both recirculated exhaust gas and charge air into the engine. Mixing of the recirculated exhaust gas and the charge air is promoted by a flow director which is mounted at a downstream end of an EGR supply passage, as well as by a flow guide mounted upstream from the flow director, with the flow guide including an aerodynamic projection for causing charge air to move smoothly around the flow director and a swirl generator.
Abstract:
A unique combination of several functions achieves a system by which consumers can validate the actual security status of a website before they decide to trust it, and therefore transact with it. In one example implementation, a security system includes a scanning engine that periodically and thoroughly scans the network and connected components of an on-line service such as a website. The results are stored and perhaps reported back to the service via alerts and the like. The website includes a “bug” which visitors can click on. The visual appearance of the “bug” can be altered (e.g. made invisible) in accordance with a determined level of security for the website. By clicking on the “bug,” the visitors can also be displayed web pages showing the security status of the website. Based on their review of such web pages, visitors can then decide whether to trust the website for further transactions.

Abstract:
An air inlet system for an internal combustion engine includes an air inlet duct for drawing charge air into a charge air processor, and an intake manifold system leading from the charge air processor to the power cylinders of the engine. A resonator which suppresses pressure pulses within the inlet duct is mounted to the intake manifold system, but fluidically connected to the air inlet duct, and not to the intake manifold system.
Abstract:
An air supply system for a reciprocating internal combustion engine includes an air inlet and a mixing volute for receiving charge air from the air inlet. The mixing volute is configured to impart swirl in a first direction to charge air passing from the air inlet and into the volute. An EGR injector introduces exhaust gas into charge air passing through the mixing volute, with the EGR injector being configured to impart swirl in a direction which is opposite to the swirl produced by the mixing volute. This causes the EGR gases and the charge air to become thoroughly mixed within a very short path length through the mixing volute.
