    Abstract: A fiber optic cable assembly includes a connector that has a mating end and a cable end. A fiber optic cable is terminated to the cable end of the connector. A cable director is coupled to the fiber optic cable rearward of the connector. The cable director includes a flexible support sleeve and a clip extending from the support sleeve. The support sleeve includes a raceway that receives the fiber optic cable. The support sleeve has a first end segment and a second end segment. The support sleeve has a first attachment point proximate to the first end segment and a second attachment point proximate to the second end segment. The support sleeve is held in a bent shape when the clip is attached to both the first attachment point and the second attachment point. The support sleeve is configured to be straightened to a loading position in which the raceway is substantially linear when the clip is removed from at least one of the first or second attachment points.

    Abstract: A latch protection clip for a connector mounted at an end of a cable and having a latch extending from a connector housing to a distal end includes a clip body having fingers configured to engage the cable directly behind the connector housing to secure the clip body to the cable. The latch protection clip also includes a trigger extending from the clip body. The trigger has a lever arm extending from the clip body and a trigger handle at an end of the lever arm opposite the clip body. The trigger handle has an outer surface and at least one pocket recessed inward from the outer surface. Each pocket is configured to receive the distal end of a corresponding latch. The trigger is configured to actuate the latch in an actuation direction when the trigger handle is deflected toward the connector housing. The pocket restricts lateral movement of the latch in a direction transverse to the actuation direction of the latch.

    Abstract: Surface-mount solder-tails (124) for use in a surface-mount edge connector (100) and other surface-mount components. The terminal members (120) are each formed with an upper-section providing a bearing surface to facilitate slidable insertion of a circuit board within connector housing (10), a mid-section which serves to anchor terminal members (120) within housing (10), and an improved solder-tail section (124) of compact design for establishing electrical contact with conductive traces on the surface of a motherboard (30). The improved solder-tails (124) are provided with an elbow to increase the length, thereby increasing the resiliency in the vertical and horizontal directions. Alternatively, solder-tails (124) may be narrowed or annealed to achieve the same result. Edge connector (100) minimizes an aggregate normal force imparted to said second circuit board (30) while maintaining a proper electrical connection, and the solder-joints are well-protected from stresses imparted to the motherboard.

A drive mechanism is coupled to the rear housing that moves the rear housing from the retracted position to the advanced position.     Abstract: A fiber optic connector assembly includes a front housing and a rear housing that is movably coupled to the front housing.
