    摘要: An access terminal supports both a longer wakeup period and a shorter wakeup period (lower frequency of wakeups and higher frequency of wakeups, respectively) where the time interval over which the short wakeup period is active is prescheduled or enabled based on needs. Thus, when paging of the access terminal is expected to occur within a known interval of time, the access terminal enters a standby mode and is awoken more frequently during that interval.

A method for providing reference timing to a BTS, the method comprising of the BTS sending a message to a network controller via a station, wherein the message requests for round trip delay time incurred by the message; the BTS estimating a timing offset from a response and determining the correction to be made to the reference timing using the timing offset due to the one way delay from the station transmitting the pilot signal, the actual PN offset at which the station transmits the pilot signal and the actual offset at which the pilot signal is received at the BTS; and the BTS making the correction to the reference timing.

    摘要: In a 3G CDMA2000 IS-2000 wireless communications system, a base station at the border between two packet zones, transmits an Extended System Parameters message that includes the identity of a primary packet zone supported by that base station as well as the identities other secondary adjoining packet zones supported by that base station. When transiting the borders between packet zones, a dormant mobile terminal will not request a reconnection until its current packet zone is no longer listed in the Extended System Parameters message received from the base station in the cell in which it is currently located. Thus, the mobile terminal will not need to repeatedly initiate a reconnection in each packet zone as moves back and forth across packet zone borders. Alternatively, the Extended System Parameters message includes a special value packet zone identity that is interpreted by the receiving mobile terminal to mean “no change.” Both of these alternatives are also applicable to color code and registration zone domains.
