摘要: A method and apparatus for positioning and supporting the work platform of a mobile workover rig is disclosed. The work platform of the preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes a unique support structure and automated positioning system for positioning the work platform at the desired height above the wellhead equipment. The preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes a specialized automated “pinning” system that secures the work platform at the desired height. Additionally, the present invention utilizes one or more support cylinders to position and support the work platform in the horizontal position over the wellhead equipment. The automated positioning and pinning system of the present invention is a unique system that significantly reduces the time required to position the work platform of a mobile workover rig in the operating position, as well as significantly reduces the risk of injury to rig personnel assisting in the positioning operations.

摘要: A method for deriving format data for a functional disk drive volume includes the following steps. Initially format data is written onto a reference functional disk drive volume. A reference functional volume format data structure is then established which associates reference functional volume functional track values with physical track addresses for each track of the functional volume for which the format data was written. Thereafter, when a command is received to format a new functional volume, a copy of the reference functional volume format data structure is derived. Then, when a write command, for example, directed to a track of the new functional volume is received, the copy of the reference functional volume format data structure is used to access a corresponding formatted track from the reference physical disk drive volume. If a write action is then performed on the corresponding formatted track, the updated track is then written back to a physical disk drive at a new location.

摘要: A hand-held instrument which provides for directing irrigating fluid to a surgical site through an irrigation passage, and which may also provide for suction of fluid and debris away from the surgical site through an alternate passage. The passages are typically tubing channels which may be attached to various types of tips which are introduced at the surgical site. The handpiece instrument, including the tubing channels, may be totally disposable, or the handpiece may be adapted to allow the external housing to be reusable with only the tubing channels being disposable. Both the suction and irrigation tubing channels may be assembled internally in the handpiece housing, with both suction and irrigation being conveniently controlled with one hand by pinch valves. In an alternate embodiment, the handpiece has external mounts for attaching the suction tube, providing the operator of the handpiece the option of having the suction function attached or detached during the surgical procedure.

摘要: A sealed drain tool for a pump with a drain has a cylindrical tool housing. The housing has a mounting end for attaching the tool to the pump. The housing also has a free end and a bore extending longitudinally through the housing from the mounting end to the free end. The bore defines an inlet opening at the mounting end for communicating with the drain opening of the pump and has a free and opening at the free end. A plunger is slidably received within the bore. A stop element prevents the plunger from exiting the free end opening. A seal is provided between the plunger and bore adjacent the free end for preventing fluid from exiting the free end opening. A discharge opening in the tool housing permits fluid to pass from the drain of the pump through the inlet opening into the bore of the tool housing and to exit the tool housing through the discharge opening to a suitable container.

摘要: A real-time data capture circuitry unit, which of a type commonly embodied as a printed wiring board assembly (or simply a "board"), has been designed to store the data used to create a current image on a Navy AN/UYQ-21(V) display. The data capture board receives the same symbol and acoustic data generator (ADG) data as the display. The data is captured and processed in real-time by duplicating the display information in a local display database. This local display database is constantly updated to be synchronous with the display so that an operator request for hardcopy processing of a current display results in a hardcopy of the display being viewed.
