Abstract:
A device is used for generating error signals for regulating the optical alignment of two lightwaves in connection with coherent heterodyne reception and comprises a receiver device (2, 3, 4) arranged focused opposite a front face at the end of a lightwave fiber (7) in order to make possible the transmission of the received information lightwave through the lightwave fiber (7) to an optical waveguide coupler (6), which is connected via a further lightwave fiber (13) with a local laser (12) and via two further lightwave fibers (8, 9) with respectively one detector (10, 11) for generating at least one error signal (Sr). A piezoelectric deflection unit (5) acts on this front face of the lightwave fiber (7) located in the focusing area of the receiving device.
Abstract:
In connection with a method and a device for the control of the optical alignment of two lightwaves in the course of a coherent superimposed reception a spatial beam regulation is achieved in that the light of a local laser (5) is superimposed on the received light (1), that then the signal obtained in this manner is divided into two identical beam portions (1A, 1B) by means of a beam splitter (2) and that a respective error signal (14, 16) is generated from the two portions by means of a respective detector arrangement (3, 4), so that the two error signal portions result in a spatial error signal. The original data signal (15) is again obtained by the addition with the correct signs of the error signal portions.
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to a method and a device and its opto-mechanical structure for the optical transmission of data over free space distances, using the principle of phase modulation of a lightwave generated by a laser and by a homodyne superimposition in a photodector of a lightwave from a second laser on the received lightwave.
Abstract:
A process is described for preparing vinyl chloride polymers. The polymerization is carried out in an apparatus the inside walls and internal fitments of which have been coated with a reaction product which forms on reacting certain silanes with inhibitors for free-radical polymerizations and which contain in the molecule at least one aromatic or at least one quinonoid ring and at least one hydrogen atom which is bonded to an oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen atom with subsequent reaction with water, drying and heat treatment. The wall-deposit formation observed with the new process is markedly smaller, in particular after several polymerization batches, than in the case of known processes.
Abstract:
Bromine-containing phosphonic acid esters of the formula ##EQU1## in which R represents a halogen-containing linear or branched aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and R' and R" are hydrogen, halogen or alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms which may be closed to form a ring and/or substituted by halogen, at least one substituent being a bromine atom, are suitable as flame retardants for plastic materials, especially polystyrene and styrene copolymers.
Abstract:
Lightwaves (1), which carry data signals and beacon light, are used for establishing a connection between a receiver and a transmitter located remote from each other. An acquisition sensor (171) is provided for acquiring the lightwaves (1) in the receiver, which generates acquisition sensor signals (Sc) from the received lightwaves. The lightwaves (1), which are conducted over a telescope (2) and a beam splitter (R4), are fed to the acquisition sensor (171) as well as to a fiber nutator scanning device (5). Besides useful signals (Sa, Sb), an additional signal (Sw, Sm′, Sm) is obtained with the aid of the scanning device (5), which is used for making the acquisition easier.
Abstract:
The method and the device of the present invention are used for aligning a transmitted and a received beam in satellite connections for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a connection between satellites by optical communications means. The device includes a control unit (3), to which a coarse adjustment unit (7), a fine adjustment unit (6), and a lead correction unit (8) are parallel connected. The parameters of the received beam (4) and also the angular values of the transmitted beam (15, 16) can be corrected by means of various summing members (5, 12, 14) in such a way that precise tracking of the received beam is achieved.
Abstract:
Microbial polysaccharides can be liberated from their amine adducts by treating them with ammonia or a highly volatile amine in the presence of monohydric alkanols having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. It is advantageous to use the amine adduct in the form of a moist press cake in which it is isolated from fermenter broths. The free polysaccharides are obtained in a virtually quantitative yield.
