摘要: Described herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods for a modular solar battery (MSB). The MSB may include a solar shell that includes a solar cell, a rechargeable battery that is charged by the solar cell, and control circuitry coupled to the solar cell and/or the rechargeable battery. The MSB may be in the form of a commercial battery. The control circuitry may include circuitry for solar power optimization, information sharing, battery charging, and/or battery health monitoring. The control circuitry may include a communication circuit to communicate information about the MSB to an external device. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

摘要: Described herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods for a solar car. The exterior of the solar car is comprised of smoothly curved and continuous photovoltaic cells. The exterior car parts, e.g., roof, doors, hood, trunk and so forth, may include integrated photovoltaic cells, all manufactured in the shape of the corresponding car parts. The photovoltaic cells are meta-encapsulated in an edgeless manner, and may utilize superconducting anodes. A first encapsulate may be polychlorotrifluoroethylene, an extreme water barrier. A second encapsulate, e.g., silicone, may be a water barrier and shock absorber. A third encapsulate may be UV stabilized polycarbonate or low iron glass. A street legal solar car may be constructed upon an electric car chassis. A competition solar car has one or more hyper-efficient electric motors, that may utilize superconducting wire in their armatures. Superconducting wire may also be used in the vehicle chassis.

摘要: Embodiments provide solar panels and methods of assembly thereof, permitting operation of a photovoltaic material with reduced degradation. As one example, a solar panel comprises one or more solar cells that include perovskite, the one or more solar cells encapsulated by a film and housed in a glass exterior that is hermetically sealed to maintain a vacuum in an interior of the solar panel of 10−7 Pascal or less throughout a lifetime of the solar panel. In this way, degradation of the solar panel due to water ingress can be avoided, thereby increasing an operational lifetime of perovskite-based solar panels and reducing manufacturing costs as compared to silicon-based counterparts.

摘要: Described herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods for a photovoltaic device including a perovskite solar cell with a longer usable lifetime than prior perovskite solar cells. In various embodiments, the photovoltaic device may include a perovskite cell that is at least partially encapsulated by two different encapsulant layers. Such a device may be referred to as a meta-encapsulated perovskite cell. A first encapsulant layer may be on the perovskite cell and may fully or partially encapsulate the perovskite cell. A second encapsulant layer may be on the first encapsulant layer and may fully or partially encapsulate the perovskite cell and/or the first encapsulant layer.
