    摘要: A wheelchair suspension system includes a suspension member which clamps to longitudinal bars of the wheelchair frame located below the seat of the wheelchair. The suspension member is elongate with upper and lower parallel leaf springs extending between the opposing ends of the suspension member. An axle support member is hinged to each end of the suspension member, by pivotal connection to each of the leaf springs. Each axle support member receives the axle of one of the opposing large rear wheels of the wheelchair. As the large wheels encounter uneven areas on the ground surface on which the wheelchair moves, the leaf springs flex reducing vibrations and shock to the wheelchair occupant. The axle support members maintain their generally upright orientation as the leaf springs flex so that camber angle of the rear wheels does not change.

    摘要: A suspension fork for caster wheels providing shock absorption, comfort and safety while maintaining the original castering characteristics. A fork supporting a wheel on an axle is allowed to pivot about a second axle or pin located at the opposite end of the fork, forward and above the trailing wheel. The forward pivot is housed inside an upper block, which acts as a mounting fixture to the desired vehicle. A stem bolt protrudes from the upper block into the vehicle's caster housing containing bearings providing sideways rotation for steering purposes. The pivoting action of the fork and wheel about the upper block is controlled by a spring/dampener of polymer seated between the two blocks. Rigid tabs or mechanical lock outs limit the range of fork pivot and capture the elastomeric material until the forward pin is removed. Standardized axle and stem bolt dimensions allow the suspension caster to readily replace a conventional rigid caster fork.

The plenum is coupled to a supply of the gas. An optional infusion port may be included in the plenum to allow a fragrance or other additive to be infused in the stream of gas passing through the plenum.

    摘要: A shock absorbing suspension for the large rear wheels of a wheelchair is disclosed. A fork element is hinged at one end to a clamping member which attaches to a horizontal frame member of the wheelchair. A cylindrical solid polymer shock absorber cushions the movement of the fork element toward the clamping member. The free end of the fork element includes an axleway for the axle of a large wheelchair wheel. The movement of the fork element relative to the clamping member is limited by abutting surfaces on the fork element and the clamping member.
