摘要: The invention relates to a method and generator for generating a time sequence of EDM pulses having a predefined ignition voltage for electrical discharge machining. An AC voltage is generated from a DC voltage, furnished by a bipolar current source. The AC voltage is applied to an isolating transformer disposed between the bipolar current source and the spark gap. A first pulse capacitor is charged by the bipolar current source to a voltage corresponding to the ignition voltage. The ignition voltage provided by the isolating transformer is switched with a selected polarity to the spark gap.

摘要: The invention pertains to a method and a device for die sinking and wire-cutting workpieces by means of electrical discharge machining. A machine frame (10) as well as a worktank (9) and a lower guide head (5) form a stationary unit referred to the main axis directions X, Y. The workpiece (2) is immersed in the worktank (9) and moved in the horizontal plane by means of the X/Y main axis drive (14). An upper guide head (4) also forms part of the stationary unit or can be moved by means of a Z drive (16) and/or a U/V drive (15). The lower guide head may also be designed such that it can be vertically moved by means of a lower Z drive (17). This concept is particularly suitable for producing microscopic components by means of electrical discharge machining and as a multielectrode machine that processes workpieces simultaneously or sequentially.

摘要: A current supply device for movable electrodes of spark erosion machines comprises a plurality of individual contacts and includes in leads connecting the contacts with a current generator, electrical components in the form of pulse transformers for a pairwise negative feedback of partial currents or additional impedances stepped according to a mathematical series for uniform current distribution over the individual contacts. The current supply device is particularly suitable for the current transmission of high energy short pulses, such as are used for an erosive wire cutting. The current supply device operates in an almost wear-free manner and can also fulfill the function of guide for the electrode.

The circuit board unit comprises a circuit board topmost laminate with conductive tracks on the upper side for mounting surface-mountable devices. The circuit board topmost laminate features a thickness dimensioned such that the anticipated heat dissipated by the surface-mountable devices is transported from the upper side to the underside of the circuit board laminate to good effect. The circuit board unit further comprises an electrically insulating laminate arranged under the circuit board topmost laminate, inserts made of a material with good heat conductivity and electrical insulation embedded in the electrically insulating laminate at sites below surface-mountable devices with high heat dissipation, and a cooling plate arranged below the electrically insulating laminate and the inserts.

摘要: A pulse generator for spark-erosive metal working contains a charge regulator circuit for charging a storage capacitor. A storage capacitor is sinusoidally discharged across a switching device to a spark gap. Charging always occurs in a defined manner independently of the preceding pulses, so that uniform pulses can be generated. The storage capacitor is charged with an energy excess of required for discharge and the energy still remaining after spark discharge is recovered in a d.c. voltage source. The switching device (3) is non-conductive only when the discharge current has substantially decayed.

摘要: The disclosed method involves generating cartesian coordinate information representative of the electrode deflection from a rest position of a wire electrode electrical discharge cutting machine, feeding this information into an electronic processing system to convert it to appropriate control instructions, and then feeding the instructions into a drive system, which can then correct the relative positions of the wire electrode and the workpiece accordingly, so that the deflection of the wire electrode does not adversely influence the configuration of the cut made in the workpiece by it.The apparatus for performing the method comprises a wire electrode position pickup system, which can be a photoelectric system picking up the shadow of the wire or a system which measures the spacing between the wire and sensing electrodes by sensing the electrolytic current through a dielectric fluid which fills the space between them. The deflection information representative of the deflection is then fed as an input signal into an electronic processing unit which for each coordinate includes an analog computer with a summator, an inverter with amplification of one-half, a differentiator, and a division circuit to convert it to control instructions for a drive unit which makes the positional correction. The correction can be made by the main drive unit which moves the workpiece or by an auxiliary drive which moves the wire guides relative to the wire guide supporting structure.

摘要: A head assembly for an electro-erosion machine tool comprises, in a housing, a guide for guiding the moving filamentary or strip-form tool electrode and first contact means for supplying erosion energy to the electrode. The scavenging medium is fed into the housing so as to cool the contact means and guide, and leaves it by way of a nozzle through which also the electrode leaves the housing on its way to another head assembly arranged on the opposite side of the location where machining is performed, the scaverging medium being thereby fed to the machining location as an envelope coaxial to the electrode. Second contact means for contacting the workpiece to be machined are fixed to the nozzle and the connections to each contact means are arranged for low inductive energy loss.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and a generator for generating a time sequence of discharge pulses for EDM machining wherein a pulse capacitor (22) for generating the discharge pulse is charged with a charging voltage (U_chrg) and then discharged into the spark gap. The pulse capacitor (22) after being discharged is recharged with a charging voltage (U_chrg) having the same polarity as that of the residual voltage (U_end) remaining at the pulse capacitor (22) after its discharge. Thereafter, the pulse capacitor (22) is discharged with a discharge pulse into the spark gap, wherein the polarity of the discharge pulse is independent of the polarity of the charging voltage (U_chrg) at the pulse capacitor (22) after its recharge.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and a generator for generating a time sequence of discharge pulses separated from each other by pulse pauses for electrical discharge machining. At least two pulse capacitors are discharged each in the form of a partial pulse into the spark gap for forming together a discharge pulse. A discharge pulse having a predetermined waveform is selected from a plurality of discharge pulses having differing predetermined waveforms. The discharge of the at least two pulse capacitors is controlled such that the selected discharge pulse is generated with the predetermined waveform.
