A method for measuring distance is provided and includes: receiving an image captured by an image capturing device; identifying and extracting a human face in the image; identifying two eyes and a mouth included in the human face; defining a region using the two eyes and the mouth, and calculating a number of pixels contained in the region; and calculating a distance between the human face and the image capturing device based on the number of pixels contained in the region and a resolution of the image capturing device.
Abstract:
A PoE system includes a plurality of PoE devices and a hub that are coupled in a ring configuration through a plurality of network cables. The hub is coupled to two of the network cables, and provides electric power to at least one of the network cables that is coupled to the hub. Each of the PoE devices is coupled to two of the network cables, receives electric power from one of the two network cables, and supplies electric power to the other one of the two network cables. As a consequence, each of the PoE devices can be directly or indirectly powered by the hub.
Abstract:
A system power consumption control method for an integrated computer system is provided. The integrated computer system includes an embedded controller, a power supply device and plural peripheral devices. The power supply device provides electric power at a supply power amount. The information corresponding to at least two predetermined power consumption amounts is provided from each peripheral device. The embedded controller adds up the highest predetermined power consumption amounts and a basic power consumption amount to obtain a highest overall power consumption amount. If the highest overall power consumption amount is higher than the supply power amount, a power consumption adjustment application program is executed. If a specified peripheral device of the plural peripheral devices is ready to perform a task, the embedded controller decreases the current power consumption amount of at least one of the running peripheral devices.

A service data record system and a POS system with the service data record system are provided. The service data record system transmits a data of an electronic device to a remote monitoring device. The electronic device includes plural electronic units and a power unit. The service data record system includes a power device, a remote monitoring interface and a micro processing unit. The micro processing unit is connected with the electronic device, the remote monitoring interface and the power device. By the micro processing unit, the electronic data set of the electronic unit may be externally transmitted to the remote monitoring device. Moreover, the pre-designate event of the electronic device may be externally transmitted to the remote monitoring device. According to the pre-designate event, it is convenient for a service engineer to make the preparation before repair or maintenance.

An electronic device includes an operation body, a frame and an antenna. The frame encloses a lateral side of the operation body. The antenna is disposed within the frame, and partially exposed outside the frame. The antenna is electrically connected with the operation body to provide a wireless communication function. A wireless communication interference source is disposed within the operation body, or the operation body contains a metallic material. Since the operation body is enclosed by the frame, the frame can protect operation body and prevent collision of the operation body. Moreover, since the antenna is located outside the operation body, the antenna is away from the interference source that is disposed within the operation body. Consequently, the wireless communication efficiency is enhanced, and the inner space of the operation body is saved.

A service data record system (SDR) and a data record method used to record data of an electronic device, such as a point of sale or service (POS) device. The electronic device includes a plurality of electronic units and a control unit. The control unit is used to receive and sift electronic data set of the electronic units. The service data record system includes a storage unit and a micro processing unit, and the micro processing unit is connected with the storage unit and the control unit. The micro processing unit is used to receive the sifted electronic data and transmit all the received electronic data to the storage unit.

A dual screen point-of-sale system includes a point-of-sale device and a tablet computer. The point-of-sale device includes a first display screen and a first connection part. A first picture of the point-of-sale device is shown on the first display screen in response to a first device signal. The first connection part receives the first device signal. The tablet computer includes a second connection part and a second display screen. When the first connection part and the first connection part are in communication with each other, the first device signal is transmitted from the point-of-sale device to the tablet computer. Consequently, a picture corresponding to the first device signal is shown on the second display screen. When the first connection part and the first connection part are not in communication with each other, a second picture is shown on the second display screen.

A support device having multiple degrees of freedom includes a base unit, a first support unit, a second support unit and a hinge unit. The base unit includes a base body. The first support unit includes a first support structure disposed on the base body. The second support unit includes a second support structure disposed between the first support structure and at least one display. The hinge unit includes a first hinge structure connected between the first support structure and a first end of the second support structure and a second hinge structure connected between a second end of the second support structure and the at least one display. Therefore, the second support structure can be pivotally disposed on the first support structure through the first hinge structure, and the at least one display can be pivotally disposed on the second support structure through the second hinge structure.
