摘要： A tubular, hand held desoldering tool carrying internally a spring loaded piston assembly and having a removable nozzle element at its forward end. The piston has a finger engaging cocking portion which is exposed outwardly where a portion of the rear of the tool is, in effect, cut away. The operation of the cocking portion causes axial motion of the piston for cocking and flyback. When in the cocked position, a trigger member carried by the piston assembly engages a latch element on the tubular body which holds the piston in its forward position. Activating the trigger releases the piston for its flyback stroke; however the piston assembly may be moved forwardly, while the trigger and latch are engaged, to eject the nozzle element from the body for cleaning or replacement. A rod member carried by the piston assembly extends forwardly through the nozzle element to clean its bore with each cocking cycle.

摘要： A temperature probe for measuring the initial transfer temperature from a soldering instrument to a circuit component or the like to be soldered. The temperature probe includes a thermocouple and a metal tube for housing the thermocouple. The open end of the metal tube is closed by a metal disk consisting of a metal which permits coating with a soldering compound. This makes it possible to measure the actual temperature at the tip of the soldering iron. Such a metal disk may consist of a commercially pure iron such, for example, as an electromagnet iron sold in the trade by Armco. The metal disk may have a rearwardly extending tubular extension for fitting it to the metal tube housing the thermocouple. The thermocouple may be welded or silver-soldered to its metal disk. A fixture is disclosed which permits releasably securing of the temperature probe to a soldering instrument.

摘要： A small, hand-held desoldering tool having a spring-loaded piston carried within a cylindrical body member having a removable nozzle element at one end and being substantially open at the other. The piston has a finger-engaging cocking portion which extends radially outwardly through an elongate slot in the cylindrical body member and which permits axial motion of the piston for cocking and flyback. When in the cocked position, a trigger lever carried externally of the body member holds the piston in its forward position. Moving the trigger lever in one direction releases the piston for its flyback stroke and moving it in the opposite sense forces the piston further forward to eject the nozzle element from the body for cleaning or replacement. A rod member carried by the piston extends forwardly through the nozzle element to clean its bore with each cocking cycle. A reading of the complete specification is recommended for a full understanding of the principles and features of the disclosed tool.

摘要： A locking collar for removably securing the soldering tip to the smooth, constant diameter shaft of an electric soldering iron is disclosed which has a tapered thread engagement relationship with the rear, skirt portion of the tip member. The collar threads onto the rear of the tip member and compresses it securely against the soldering iron shaft. In one embodiment, the engagement is achieved by an eccentric, interference causing relation between the tip member, the soldering iron shaft, and the threaded collar.

摘要： A molded, hand held dispenser for solder or other strand materials. The apparatus carries a plurality of replaceable, bobbin spools in a bobbin case body portion. A dispensing extension formed integrally therewith is provided with internal, strand guide means for dispensing the soldering materials through a snout portion of the extension. A molded cover plate for the dispensing extension portion is provided and includes retaining clip means for securing the ends of the strand materials when not in use. 摘要： A circuit particularly useful for automating a standard machineshop turret lathe. The circuit includes the capability of programming a sequence of events to be performed by the lathe. Mechanical actuators such as electrical motors and pneumatic pistons provide the capability of imparting movement to those lathe mechanisms usually operated manually. The operations of these lathe mechanisms are monitored by sensors such as photocells and microswitches. Pulses produced by the sensors are routed through the circuitry in a prescribed manner to produce the desired sequence of events.
