摘要: A wheel includes a hub portion configured to rotate about a rotational axis. A plurality of blades extends radially outward from the hub portion. Each blade of the plurality of blades includes a leading edge and a trailing edge. The hub portion and the plurality of blades include a substrate metal that includes aluminum or an alloy thereof. The substrate metal of the plurality of blades has coated directly thereon a first coating layer including electroless nickel-phosphorous. The first coating layer has coated directly thereon a second hard coating layer that overlies the leading edges of the plurality of blades and that is formed of a physical vapor deposition-compatible material.

摘要: A fluid compressor device includes a compressor section and a motor section. The compressor device further includes a working fluid first flow path that extends in a downstream direction through the motor housing to the compressor inlet. The working fluid first flow path is configured to receive a first flow of a working fluid that flows downstream through the motor housing past the electric motor and into the compressor inlet to be compressed by the compressor section. Additionally, the compressor device includes a working fluid second flow path extending through the housing. The working fluid second flow path is configured to receive a portion of the working fluid from the compressor section and direct the portion to the bearing system before merging with the working fluid first flow path.

摘要: Models that employ both measurable engine parameters as well as predictable engine parameters may be used to determine when a thermostat is malfunctioning before the thermostat malfunction results in an engine breakdown. Particular models may be used to provide an estimated coolant temperature and an estimated thermostat position. The estimated coolant temperature can be compared to an actual measured engine coolant temperature. The estimated thermostat position can be evaluated with respect to what the thermostat position should be given a particular engine coolant temperature. In some cases, comparison between a healthy model and a faulty model may be used to ascertain thermostat health.

摘要: A turbocharger includes a housing and a rotating group supported for rotation within the housing. The rotating group includes a compressor wheel disposed within a compressor section of the turbocharger, and the rotating group includes a turbine wheel disposed within a turbine section of the turbocharger. The turbine wheel includes a bleed pressure surface. The turbocharger further includes a bleed passage that extends at least partly through the housing to fluidly connect the compressor section to the turbine section. The bleed passage is configured to direct a bleed flow of fluid from the compressor section to the bleed pressure surface to supply a thrust counterbalance load to the bleed pressure surface.
