摘要: A system is provided for obtaining enhanced quality grayscale printing using standard printer architecture. An image to be printed is scanned to produce several bit maps for image pixels having different optical intensities. The different bit maps are handled by a standard print engine separately, in the same manner as multicolor bit maps would be handled. The image is then printed using a print head assembly having separate print heads for grayscale printing using different optical intensities. Thus, a printed image having enhanced resolution and quality, because of the optical intensity discrimination, is produced using a printer architecture which is the same as a standard multicolor printer architecture except for the front end, which scans for optical intensity, and the print head assembly, which has different print heads designed to produce different optical intensities. The print heads use either different ink dot sizes, inks having different pigment concentrations, or other suitable techniques for varying the optical intensity.

摘要: Trench-confirmable geothermal reservoirs with flexible reservoir bodies that can snugly abut trench walls (that may be of virgin, compacted earth) for facilitating heat exchange and flow liquid from one lower end to an opposing top end, and vice versa, depending on desired heat exchange. The direction can be reversed for summer and winter heat/cooling configurations. A series of the reservoirs may be used for appropriate heat transfer. The water volume of the reservoirs is relatively large and slow moving for good earth heat conduction. The reservoirs include first and second ports, one of which has an elongate internal tube that has a bottom that resides adjacent a bottom of the reservoir body and a series of apertures on only a lower portion of the internal tube to intake or output liquid depending on flow direction.

摘要: The technology allows a user's demo experience to be set up and maintained remotely. Retailers and vendors may remotely manage and update the user experience on demonstration devices. A package of applications that highlight a particular device's capabilities can be selected and installed on demo versions of the particular device in stores all across the country. Usage information from the demonstration devices may be collected. With the collected information, retailers can ascertain user interest in particular devices and applications. Further, the user experience may be maintained and reset to default settings on a regular basis. Automatically resetting the experience maintains a consistent retail experience.

摘要: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed towards a system and method for enabling an identity based connected service employing a “bound to identity” application usage model. The identity based connected service supports network access for the computing devices based on network connectivity associated with a device application. The system and method use the network access associated with the device application to communicate application state changes in a manner such that any instance of the device application executing on any of the computing devices associated with the same end-user identity remain coherent and consistent. The system and method authenticates an instance of the device application with a single authentication of the device application to an associated resource server.

摘要: A cutting instrument having a body, a blade at a distal end of the body, and a mechanism for rotating the blade from a first to a second position. The instrument can be used in a method of retrograde drilling a hole in bone. The cutting instrument is provided with a mechanism (for example, a pin and a slot) that converts linear motion into rotational motion and locks the blade into position. The cutting blade is configured to engage the shaft of the instrument and to lock into the shaft. The cutting blade is articulated between at least a first “straight” position (for example, about parallel to the longitudinal axis of the instrument) when the instrument cuts in an antegrade manner, and at least a second “flip” position (for example, a non-parallel position relative to the longitudinal axis of the instrument) when the instrument cuts in a retrograde manner. The cutting blade may be provided with a suture passing notch. The cutter instrument may also include a button mechanism for controlling the linear movement.

摘要: A plate-type heat exchanger having a first heat exchanger portion configured to receive a refrigerant flow and a hot side coolant flow having a lower temperature than the refrigerant flow, a second heat exchanger portion configured to receive the refrigerant flow exiting from the first heat exchanger portion and a cold side coolant flow having a higher temperature than the refrigerant flow exiting from the first heat exchanger portion, and an internal heat exchanger portion sandwiched between the first heat exchanger portion and the second heat exchanger portion. The refrigerant flow through the plate type heat exchanger is in non-contact thermal communication with the hot side coolant flow and the cold side coolant flow. The cold side coolant flow transfers heat energy to the refrigerant, which in turn transfer that heat energy to the hot side coolant flow.

摘要: A circuit breaker is disclosed that has a bi-stable display that maintains an indication of a fault condition after power is interrupted to the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker has a microcontroller that receives power derived from a line current that passes through the circuit breaker or the line voltage when the circuit breaker is in an on state. The bi-stable display is electrically coupled to and controlled by the microcontroller. A tripping mechanism trips the circuit breaker in response to detection of a fault condition. The tripping mechanism trips the circuit breaker in response to receiving a trip signal from the microcontroller. The microcontroller is programmed to modify the bi-stable display when sending the trip signal to the electronic switching device. The bi-stable display shows an indication of one of the several fault types that would have caused the circuit breaker to trip. The bi-stable display continues to display the fault-type indication after the circuit breaker has tripped and power is interrupted to the microcontroller.

摘要: A heat exchanger assembly including a first manifold extending along an axis between first manifold ends and including an inner wall presenting an interior. A fluid distribution device is disposed in the interior of the first manifold and includes an inlet tube extending along the axis from an inlet end to a distribution end. The inlet tube presents a plurality of apertures spaced circumferentially from one another and spaced axially from the distribution end for dispensing the refrigerant in a radial direction out of the inlet tube. The fluid distribution device further includes a collar surrounding and spaced radially from the inlet tube and extending axially in both directions axially from the apertures of the inlet tube for redirecting into an axial direction the refrigerant flowing in the radial direction out of the apertures to evenly distribute the refrigerant across the interior of the first manifold.
