Abstract:
Disclosed are approaches for analyzing vibration data to determine and mitigate an occurrence of an anomaly with respect to an industrial machine. In one embodiment, time-series vibration data is received from a sensor measuring vibration of a machine. First outliers are detected in a short-term window of the time-series vibration data. Second outliers are detected in a long-term window of the time-series vibration data. The sensor is determined to be associated with an anomaly based at least in part on a quantity of the first outliers and a quantity of the second outliers.
Abstract:
A method and integrated reactor system are provided for producing one or more organic acids, organic acid degradation compounds, and combinations thereof, from various types of biomass, including sludge from a pulp and paper mill.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process to separate formic acid from methyltetrahydrofuran (MTHF) said process comprising subjecting a composition comprising formic acid and MTHF to distillation, characterized in that the process comprises adding water to said distillation. This allows for cost-efficient recovery and recycling of MTHF, for example in process to produce and recover formic acid from a biomass hydrolysate.
Abstract:
A method and integrated reactor system are provided for producing one or more organic acids, organic acid degradation compounds, and combinations thereof, from various types of biomass, including sludge from a pulp and paper mill.
Abstract:
The invention provides a process to separate levulinic acid from a biomass hydrolysate said process comprising extraction using as an organic solvent a substituted benzene comprising (i) at least one OR1 group wherein R1 is H or CH3; and (ii) at least one C1-3 alkyl group, wherein each of the at least one OR1 group is ortho positioned to at least one C1-3 alkyl group. Using said substituted benzene as extraction solvent gives good extraction efficiency, the extraction can advantageously be carried out at elevated temperature, and is very suitable for subsequent distillation steps.

A method and integrated reactor system are provided for producing one or more organic acids, organic acid degradation compounds, and combinations thereof, from various types of biomass, including sludge from a pulp and paper mill.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for reuse of a sludge from a waste fiber supply including an organic fraction and an inorganic fraction. Generally, methods include converting the sludge by burning the sludge to remove a majority of the organic fraction and produce an ash with inorganic materials in an amount of at least about 80% by weight of the ash and adding the ash to a plastic pyrolysis system in an effective amount to remove at least a portion of one or more contaminants from a plastic feed stream of the plastic pyrolysis system. Integrated recycling systems also are provided and include a fiber recovery system; a means for at least partially dewatering a sludge; a burner; and a pyrolyzer.
Abstract:
A method and integrated system for producing levulinic acid from the sludge of a pulp and paper mill and other lignocellulosic biomass is provided.
Abstract:
A disposable paper towel with an anti-microbial lotion and is provided with a chromatic transfer indicator which undergoes a delayed, visually perceptible color change at a predetermined time after the towel is wetted. An anti-microbial lotion on the towel increases water absorbency times (WAR) to further promote lotion transfer to the skin and increase lotion transfer effectiveness.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for production line optimization include: receiving, from each of a plurality of equipment along the production line, equipment data at each interval of a plurality of intervals, the equipment data including equipment speed data, equipment state data, and equipment fault data; analyzing the equipment data with one or more optimization rules to identify an optimization setting; and, outputting the optimization setting to a production line device for modification of the production line.
