A method of producing high yield chemical cellulosic pulp includes: (a) chemically pulping wood chips to separate lignin and liberate cellulosic fibers from the wood chips to generate a cellulosic pulp; (b) washing and screening the pulp of step (a); (c) pre-treating the washed pulp with oxygen; (d) optionally washing the treated pulp of step (c); (e) bleaching the pre-treated pulp in an extended duration oxidative bleaching stage; (f) optionally washing the bleached pulp of step (e); and (g) optionally further oxidatively or reductively bleaching the bleached pulp in a shorter duration bleaching stage, wherein the bleached pulp is produced at a yield of greater than 60% based on the weight of the pulped wood chips (dry basis).

Provided is a method that, when pulp fibers are recovered from used absorbent articles that have been put into collection bags, makes it possible to safely and sanitarily crush the used absorbent articles while suppressing costs. A method for recovering pulp fibers from used absorbent articles, the method comprising: a crushing step (S12) in which collection bags (A) in which used absorbent articles have been sealed are put into a container (65), the collection bags in the container are transferred to a crushing device (12) that communicates with the container, and, bag by bag, the crushing device crushes the used absorbent articles in the collections bags in a deactivating aqueous solution; and a separation step (S13) in which the pulp fibers, a highly water-absorbent polymer, and the deactivating aqueous solution are separated from the crushed product and deactivating aqueous solution obtained in the crushing step.

A method (10) for cleaning fibers from a contaminated article is disclosed. The method (10) can include pulping (20) a contaminated article to separate the fibers or filaments from the contaminated article in a first solution to provide dissociated pulped fibers. The method (10) can also include washing (26) the dissociated pulped fibers by forming a suspension comprising the dissociated pulped fibers from the contaminated article and a detergent, applying a magnetic field to the suspension, and mixing the suspension to wash the dissociated pulped fibers while applying the magnetic field to the suspension thereby forming washed pulped fibers. Contaminates can be removed from the suspension while washing (26) the dissociated pulped fibers. The washed pulped fibers can be rinsed and dried to provide clean fibers.

A process for manufacturing a web material is disclosed. The process generally provides the steps of: a. providing a pulp material comprising fibers and vessels; b. separating said vessels from said fibers in said pulp material to form a slurry having at least about 7 percent less vessels per meter than said pulp material; and c. processing said slurry to form said web material.

A fibrous material reprocessing apparatus separates a cellulose pulp material into a fibrous material stream and a remainder stream. The fibrous material stream is treated in a grinder to reduce the size of the fibrous material. The reduced size fibrous material is then recombined with the remainder stream.

There are provided a method of recovering a base paper for gypsum board for continuously and efficiently recovering a base paper for gypsum board from a waste material of gypsum board including a gypsum core and the base paper for gypsum board adhering thereto. The method of recovering a base paper for gypsum board includes steps of breaking the waste material of gypsum board, separating a gypsum component and a paper piece of the base paper for gypsum board from the broken waste material of gypsum board, and washing the separated paper piece with water using a rotary drum-type washing device so as to eliminate a gypsum component adhering to the paper piece.

Waste that contains fibers and combustible material is slushed in a continuous-operation high-consistency pulper (10) to suspend in water the fibers contained in the waste. From the pulper (10) are discharged substantially continuously a fiber suspension (P1) through a screen plate; and non-defibrable material (R1) by means of a mechanical transfer device (22). The fiber suspension (P1) is sorted and cleaned for use as raw material in paper or board. The non-defibrable material (R1) and the rejects (R2-R4) separated from the fiber suspension (P1) in the sorting and cleaning stages are used as fuel in energy production and/or utilized as raw material.

摘要:
The invention provides a process and apparatus for the treatment and recovery of fiberboard and particle board waste. Waste fiberboard and particle board is fed into a steam chamber and steam treated with steam under pressure from a steam generator. When the steam treatment is completed any effluent and excess steam are evacuated from the chamber and the steam treated waste is passed through a rotating trommel. Woodfibers and woodchips pass through the screens of the trommel and are collected for drying and further processing. Waste material, such as melamine coatings, passes through the trommel for collection and disposal. The collected woodfiber and woodchips can be processed for reuse in paper, cardboard or particle board manufacture or as mulch and other ground cover material.

Granular absorbent products with low amounts of paper fiber are described. The absorbent products are made from recycled paper and include less than about 10% of paper fibers having a length sufficient to be retained on a 100 mesh screen. A process for making such granular absorbent products is also provided. The granular absorbents are useful for absorbing liquids spilled on the floor, and are crushable when walked on to provide greater resistance to slipping, and yet have a high resistance to attrition.
