    Abstract: Naphthyridines of the formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl ring or heteroaromatic radical and R.sup.2 -R.sup.6 are hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenyl, benzyl, unsubstituted or substituted heteroaryl linked via a carbon, cyano, nitro, carboxyl, sulfonylmethyl, alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, alkylcarbamoyl, dialkylcarbamoyl, alkanoyl, benzoyl, it being possible for R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 to be bonded by a methylene chain or by a CH.dbd.CH--CH.dbd.CH group.
