摘要: A light source device includes at least two light emitting parts which emit light; and a polarization separating part which transmits polarized light in a first vibrating direction of the lights from the light emitting part, and reflects polarized light in a second vibrating direction nearly orthogonal to the first vibrating direction, thereby to separate the lights from the light emitting part into the polarized light in the first vibrating direction and the polarized light in the second vibrating direction. Herein, the light emitting part includes a reflection part which reflects light that travels toward the light emitting part from the polarization separating part, in the direction of the polarization separating part. The polarization separating part synthesizes the polarized light in the first vibrating direction that has passed through the polarization separating part, and the polarized light in the second vibrating direction that has reflected on the polarization separating part, thereby to cause the synthesized light to travel in a predetermined direction.

摘要: The present invention provides a touch panel having pluralities of projections, each of the projections having a predetermined shape, formed on inner surfaces of a lower substrate and an upper substrate, respectively. The projections being formed in at least two directions with a substantially periodical pitch that is shorter than any wavelength of visible light. The touch panel can also include a lower transparent electrode and an upper transparent electrode formed over the inner surfaces of the lower substrate and the upper substrate having the pluralities of projections, respectively. The cross-sectional area of each of the projections parallel to the outer surface of the lower substrate is configured to decrease continuously from bottom to top of the projection. The same applies to the combination of each of the projections, the bottom and a top thereof, and the upper substrate. Accordingly, this structure reduces the light reflection and diffraction at the boundary between an air space and the transparent electrode, thereby providing a resistive contact-type touch panel or a electrostatic capacitive coupling-type touch panel having high light transmittance.

摘要: The present invention provides a projector that stably displays high-contrast, bright images by improving light resistance and heat resistance of a polarizer. The projector includes: a light source device; an electro-optic device that modulates light emitted from the light source device; two polarizers that are disposed respectively on a light incoming side and a light outgoing side of the electro-optic device; and a projection optical system that projects light output from the electro-optic device. At least one of the two polarizers is a structural birefringent polarizing plate.
