    摘要： It is an object of the present invention to detect whether or not a conveying path is in a state capable of discharging a recording medium, having a recorded image thereon, outside of the apparatus, so as to prevent generation of a jam in conveyance and discharge of the recording medium. A state of covering a discharge port by a cover member is detected, and image recording on a recording medium is executed only when the recording medium can be conveyed and discharged. Non-execution of recording is indicated to an operator, and execution of recording is resumed when the cover member is moved to a state not obstructing conveyance and discharge of the recording medium.

    摘要： In order to deposit a liquid for improving fixing ability and water resistance of an ink at an optimal position in an appropriate amount, to maximize an effect of the liquid, and to easily generate a driving data for ejecting the liquid, low resolution printing data for respective of four printing heads is read out from a frame memory. A logical sum of the printing data is calculated by an OR circuit. Then, the logical sum is processed by a look-up table to generate the driving data for the liquid ejecting head corresponding to high resolution.

The ink-jet printing head includes a plurality of ejection openings for ejecting ink, a plurality of ink passages communicated with the plurality of ejection openings, ink ejecting energy generating elements provided in the plurality of ink passages, a mixing liquid chamber connected to the plurality of ink passages in common, a plurality of individual liquid chambers supplying ink to the mixing liquid chamber, and a valve mechanism provided between the individual liquid chamber and the mixing liquid chamber and controlling supply amount of the inks supplied from the individual liquid chambers.

    摘要： In an ink jet printer, formation time of processing for generating data for providing a treatment liquid for improving fixing or water resistance of an ink by insolubilizing or coagulating a color material in the ink is reduced. For this purpose, to perform HV conversion for raster data for image data related to printing, processing for temporarily storing image data and processing of rewriting the HV conversion result are performed in a same sequence. For example, a treatment liquid data formation register having the same structure as an HV conversion register is provided. This register is masked to a pattern according to a treatment liquid composition on a printing medium and is made corresponding to data bits of the HV conversion register. Print data accessed by the HV conversion register is located in relation to the access, thereby forming the treatment liquid data simultaneously.

    摘要： An image processing and image forming system inputs multivalued image data having a resolution of 300.times.300 dpi, converts the resolution of the data to a higher resolution of 600.times.1200 dpi and forms an image. In a memory, pattern data corresponding to image data of a predetermined color is stored in advance. When color data, image data (code) and data corresponding to an image forming position are input to the memory as an address, the memory outputs pattern data stored at that address. By selectively outputting the pattern data read from the memory in accordance with the forming position, color image data whose resolution has been converted is output to form an image.
