Abstract:
A method, computer program product and system for handing messages in a Web application. Messages in a Web application may be handled by inserting a writeable block in a window in a first page of the Web application where the writeable block for receiving a message may be generated by the Web application. In a second page of the Web application, a message script may be inserted if a message is generated by the Web application for display in response to an execution of the second page. In response to the message script, the message handler is invoked.
Abstract:
A stress-relieving heatsink structure and method of forming thereof for an electronic package, for instance, that including a semiconductor chip package which is mounted on a wired carrier, such as a circuitized substrate. The heatsink structure is constituted from a plurality of base structures which are joined along slits so as to impart a degree of flexibility to the electronic package inhibiting the forming of stresses tending to cause delamination of the package components.
Abstract:
There are provided a method, a system and a computer program product for maintaining an asset. The system receives data associated with an one asset and other assets to which the one asset is directly or indirectly physically connected. The system determines, based on the received data, a dependency between the one asset and one or more of the other assets. The system predicts, based on the determined dependency, a failure of the one asset within a future time period.
Abstract:
One illustrative method disclosed herein involves forming a layer of insulating material, forming a patterned layer of photoresist above the layer of insulating material, wherein the patterned layer of photoresist has an opening defined therein, forming an internal spacer within the opening in the patterned layer of photoresist, wherein the spacer defines a reduced-size opening, performing an etching process through the reduced-size opening on the layer of insulating material to define a trench/hole type feature in the layer of insulating material, and forming a conductive structure in the trench/hole type feature in the layer of insulating material.
Abstract:
Under the present invention, the performances of a plurality of similarly configured nodes are monitored and compared. If one of the nodes exhibits a performance that varies from the performances of the other nodes by more than a current tolerance, an operational risk is detected. If detected, an alert can be generated and one or more corrective actions implemented to address the operational risk.
Abstract:
A remote controller is coupled to a target system via a computer network A real time probe is installed in software executing on a target system, typically a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The remote controller includes a nulldebugger user interfacenull which accepts and interprets scoping commands issued by a developer. A controller network driver constructs appropriate network packets to be sent over the network to the target system. The target system has a control processor which runs a target network driver for receiving the network packets containing the scoping commands. The scoping commands are sent to an nullembedded debuggernull which performs the requested probing/scoping. When the DSP code runs across an address where the probe is installed, the embedded debugger will collect the signal values. The collected scope data will be interleaved and sent to the target network driver which, will encapsulate the information into suitable packets to send back to the controller via the network.
Abstract:
The invention relates to scheduling multiple tasks running on multiple platforms by analysis and consideration of various factors and metrics, e.g., priority of execution, balancing the work load, balancing of resources, resource availability, time constraints, etc. through such expedients as task assignment, (i.e., deciding which processor or other resources will be used to execute one or more tasks). The purpose is to minimize processing execution time and client waiting time by efficiently distributing workload among operational computers, processors and other system resources. The relationship of real world server workload versus time, measured against various metrics and historical data, with an intermediate result used to simulate future demand. This simulation of future demand is then used to reconfigure the system to meet the demand, thereby providing higher degrees of self management and autonomy to the web site.
Abstract:
When a request is received to perform a data operation requiring an interaction with any one of multiple data replicas stored on one or more data storage devices and managed by a quorum-based data management protocol in which completion of a data update is reported to an initiator of the data update when acceptance of the data update is reported by a majority of the data replicas, the data operation is routed to be performed using one of a predefined minority of the data replicas if the data operation requires less than strong consistency, is a read-only data operation, and meets a predefined criterion of being computationally time-intensive or computationally resource-intensive, or routed to be performed using a predefined majority of the data replicas if the data operation requires strong consistency or requires a data write operation or does not meet the predefined criterion.
