Abstract: A puzzle comprises a cube having translucent faces with a light source behind each face. Gravity-sensitive or orientation-sensitive switches such as mercury switches, are connected to an electronic circuit acting to compare the switching states and switching movements of the switches with a programmed sequence held in a memory to determine whether and which of the light sources to illuminate. In use of the puzzle the faces will light up when a predetermined sequence of rotations about three orthogonal axes are performed correctly to match the switching sequences with the stored sequence.

Abstract: Processes using multiple expansion turbines for efficient recovery of power from a plurality of very high pressure streams of superheated vapor are disclosed. Beneficially, processes of the invention use at least two classes of expansion turbines. Processes according to this invention are particularly useful for recovery of power from very high pressure streams of superheated steam in an olefins manufacturing process. Such streams are typically produced by thermal cracking of suitable petroleum derived feed stocks, and the olefins being produced and purified are typically ethylene and/or propylene.

Abstract: A thin, disposable, extremely bright flashlight is constructed around a thin, planar dry cell battery. The battery, a switch, and miniature incandescent lamps are sealed within a flexible cover of approximately the size of a playing card. The sealed construction removes any danger from electrical sparks in a flammable atmosphere. A window of translucent or transparent material is provided at one end of the package. Two miniature lamps, which may be overdriven to increase their brightness, are located behind this window. The lamps are sufficiently bright that a beam collimation system is unnecessary. Squeezing the package at a designated location closes a dome switch, causing the lamps to light. Releasing pressure on the dome switch opens the circuit so that the light cannot be inadvertently left on.
