A process for chilling ethylene to required storage temperatures is disclosed, the process including: cooling an ethylene product from at least one of an ethylene production process and an ethylene recovery process via indirect heat exchange with a coolant at a temperature less than about −100° C. to decrease the temperature of the ethylene product; mixing a portion of the cooled ethylene product with methane to form the coolant; expanding at least one of the coolant, the methane, and the portion of the cooled ethylene to reduce a temperature of the coolant to less than −100° C. prior to the cooling; and feeding the heat exchanged coolant to at least one of the ethylene production process, the ethylene recovery process, and an open-loop refrigeration system.
摘要:
A process for producing aromatic hydrocarbons which comprises a) contacting ethane or mixed lower alkanes with an aromatic hydrocarbon conversion catalyst to produce reaction products including benzene, b) separating methane, hydrogen, and C2-5 hydrocarbons from the reaction products of step a), and c) hydrodealkylating the remaining reaction products to produce benzene. In a preferred embodiment, the feed is split into two streams, one of which is catalytically or thermally cracked to produce ethylene which is then combined with the remaining ethane or lower alkanes and contacted with the aromatic hydrocarbon conversion catalyst.
摘要:
A process for the high-yield recovery of ethylene and heavier hydrocarbons from the gas produced by pyrolysis of hydrocarbons in which the liquid products resulting from the fractionated condensation of a cracking gas for the recovery of almost all the ethylene, are supplied to a distillation column, called a de-ethanizer, at different intermediate levels. At the top of the de-ethanizer the vapor of the column distillate is treated directly in an acetylene hydrogenation reactor, the effluent containing virtually no acetylene being separated by a distillation column called a de-methanizer, into an ethylene- and ethane-enriched tail product, while the head product is recycled by compression or treated for subsequent recovery of ethylene.

A method and an apparatus for the largest recovery of ethylene and propylene from gas produced by the pyrolysis of hydrocarbons, wherein any liquid current produced by the fractional condensation of the raw gas up to a definite temperature is directly fed to an ethane fractionating column (deethanizer) the bottom product of which is the purified current containing almost all propylene, while any current condensed at lower temperature is fed to a methane separating column (demethanator) provided with a reboiler in which the partial condensation of the overhead vapor of the deethanizer occurs, and the bottom product of the demethanator contains all ethylene.

A process is provided for the separation and recovery of a major portion of the C.sub.2 + hydrocarbon content of a feed gas comprising hydrogen, methane, ethylene, and ethane. The feed gas is introduced to a dephlegmator to effect its separation into a vapor stream and a condensate stream. The condensate stream which is rich in C.sub.2 + hydrocarbons is passed to a demethanizer column where it is fractionated into an overhead methane-hydrogen stream and a bottoms product ethylene-ethane+ stream.
摘要:
Process for the removal of methane from a hydrocarbon feed containing ethylene, methane and higher boiling hydrocarbons with minimum loss of ethylene. Methane is separated overhead from the feed in a separation zone at a first lower pressure; a first portion of this overhead vapor is expanded through an expansion motor producing an energy output, a second portion of the overhead vapor is compressed to a second pressure greater than the first pressure in a compressor driven by the motor output. The compressed vapor portion is then cooled to condense the major portion of the methane and the condensed methane is returned to the separation zone as reflux and recovering ethylene as bottoms from the separation zone. The methane vapor is recovered as fuel gas.

Olefins may be recovered from a methanol to olefins reactor effluent by initially feeding the effluent to an absorber demethanizer to contact the effluent with an absorbent to recover an overheads including methane and ethylene and a bottoms including the absorbent, ethylene, and ethane. The bottoms are separated to recover an ethylene fraction and an ethane fraction. The overheads are cooled and partially condensed in a first heat exchanger to a temperature of −40° C. or greater. The resulting stream, or a portion thereof, may be further cooled and condensed via indirect heat exchange with a mixed refrigerant to a temperature of less than −40° C. The non-condensed vapors are separated from the condensed liquids to form a liquid fraction and a methane fraction. The liquid fraction is fed to the absorber demethanizer as reflux, and the methane and ethane fractions combined to form the mixed refrigerant.
