More specifically, disclosed are a novel 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide compound suitable for use as a selective chemodosimeter that shows considerably high detection sensitivity to mercury ions, an 8-hydroxyquinoline acetamide compound as an intermediate thereof, preparation thereof, and a chemodosimeter for mercury ion-selective detection, the chemodosimeter comprising the 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide compound. The compounds as disclosed herein exhibit considerably effective fluorescence specificity of an off-on type, detect a micromole of mercury ions from chemical and biological aqueous systems, and allow 100% desulfurization within 5 minutes, thus being considerably useful in the chemical industry.

Disclosed is a novel use of rice, rice bran or rice hull extract as a histamine receptor antagonist. The rice, rice bran or rice hull extract may be used as a natural antihistamine to prevent or treat allergic rhinitis, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, bronchitis, nausea, gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, sleep disorder, anxiety and depression. It provides comparable or better effect of decreasing sleep latency, increasing sleep duration and increasing non-REM sleep as compared to diazepam, which is currently used as sleeping drug. Derived from the natural product rice, rice bran or rice hull, it has no side effect such as cognitive impairment, resistance or dependency even after long-term use.

The stepping motor include a bracket including a fixing hole; a shaft supporter rotatably supporting one end of a shaft and fitted into the fixing hole; and a pressure supporter pressing and supporting the fixing hole and the shaft supporter while forming a plurality of pressure support points between the fixing hole and the shaft supporter. As such, the plurality of pressure support points is formed between the shaft supporter and the fixing hole, thereby enabling the shaft supporter to be stably press-fitted into and fixed to the fixing hole of the bracket.

Provided is a method of tracking a swimming path of a bacterium which can exactly track the swimming path of the bacterium by modeling the bacterium as ellipsoidal in shape based on an image of the bacterium obtained while the ellipsoidal bacterium swims near a solid surface. The method of tracking a swimming path of a bacterium which is formed in an ellipsoidal shape and swims in a swimming space formed between a solid surface and an imaginary surface parallel to the solid surface includes the steps of: transfecting a fluorescent gene into the bacterium; arranging the bacterium in the swimming space to swim; totally reflecting light irradiated to the solid surface, and forming an evanescent field in the swimming space; taking a picture of the bacterium expressing the fluorescent gene, which emits light in the evanescent field, at respective moments while the bacterium swims, and obtaining an image of the bacterium expressing the fluorescent gene at the respective moments; and fitting the image of the bacterium obtained at the respective moments to an ellipsoidal shape, and setting the shape of the bacterium as the ellipsoidal shape and a position of the bacterium with respect to the solid surface.
