Abstract:
Various devices and techniques related to equipment transporters are generally described. In some examples, an equipment transporter may comprise a first set of wheels rotatable around an axis of rotation and a body coupled to and rotatably supported by the first set of wheels such that the body is rotatable around the axis of rotation of the first set of wheels. The body may comprise a platform having an upper surface and extending in a first direction. The platform may have a distal end and a proximal end. The body may comprise a tab member located at the distal end of the platform and extending upward from the upper surface. In some examples, the tab member may comprise a pulling face having a first width. In some examples, the body may further comprise a riser located at the proximal end of the platform and extending upward from the upper surface.
Abstract:
An adaptive ambulatory support includes a shock absorbing and pivoting tip assembly attached to the staff of a walking aid, such as a cane, crutch or walker. The shock absorbing and pivoting tip assembly includes a shock absorber sandwiched between a lower portion and an upper portion. The shock absorber may be a bendable spring or elastic material. The tip assembly enables the shaft of the walking aid to dynamically pivot without the loss of adherence of the lower portion to the floor surface and simultaneous provides the adaptive shock absorbing capability in any angle during ambulation.
Abstract:
A wireless personal-area network (PAN) communication system includes a first device configured to simultaneously transmit a digitized stereo audio signal to and receive a digitized voice signal from a second device over the wireless PAN. The system also includes the second device, which is configured to simultaneously receive the digitized stereo audio signal from the first device and transmit the digitized voice signal to the first device over the PAN. The wireless PAN can be a Bluetooth® network. Low-latency audio codecs may be included in the first and second devices to reduce the latency of the voice and stereo audio signals transferred between the devices.
Abstract:
A breathing system is provided that employs a reservoir for holding oxygen or an oxygen and medicine mixture while the patient is not inhaling. The reservoir generally prevents waste and reduces cost and helps prevent the patient from re-inhaling the previously exhaled gases.
Abstract:
A walker/cane assembly, multi-legged cane, and single-pointed cane may share common parts that may be easily connected and detached to allow a user to convert a walker/cane assembly to a multi-legged cane and/or a single-pointed cane. Accordingly, a user may use a single assembly that may be quickly and easily modified to meet the user's needs, such as his/her current balance or energy level. One or more folding mechanisms may be employed to allow the walker/cane assembly, or the frame forming a portion of the walker/cane assembly, to be easily collapsed and folded. This may allow a user to store the walker/cane assembly, or the frame portion of the assembly, in a smaller amount of space than the expanded walker/cane assembly or the frame portion of the assembly may otherwise occupy.
Abstract:
Water soluble or water dispersible terpolymers are employed in high pressure steam generating systems to control deposit formation and contaminant transport in the aqueous medium in such systems. The terpolymer may comprise repeat units formed from acrylic acid, allylalkoxylated ethers, and allylhydroxylated alkyl ether.
Abstract:
The invention relates to derivatives of formula (I), wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification; to processes for the preparation of such derivatives; pharmaceutical compositions comprising such derivatives; such derivatives as a medicament; such derivatives for the treatment of a disorder or a disease mediated by the ghrelin receptor.
Abstract:
An exchange blade knife includes a replaceable blade, a blade holder and a blade lock. The replaceable blade includes an opening adjacent to its base edge. The blade holder includes a blade recess for receiving the replaceable blade and a boss corresponding to the opening in the blade which projects from the surface of the blade recess. The boss has a low portion that is no thicker than the replaceable blade and a raised portion that extends above the surface of the replaceable blade. The blade lock pivots on the blade holder between an opened position for receiving the replaceable blade and a closed position for retaining the replaceable blade. The blade lock also includes an opening for receiving the boss of the blade holder.
Abstract:
An outboard motor and steering system motion stabilizer is disclosed that positively locks the outboard motor and steering system in the proper position for trailering. The disclosed stabilizer device effectively isolates the road-to-trailer-to-motor shock transfer that is delivered to the lower unit of the outboard motor by traditional transom savers that brace the outboard motor to the trailer. The disclosed stabilizer device is adjustable to fit many different outboard motor brands and sizes with hydraulic tilt and trim systems.
