摘要: A walker/cane assembly, multi-legged cane, and single-pointed cane may share common parts that may be easily connected and detached to allow a user to convert a walker/cane assembly to a multi-legged cane and/or a single-pointed cane. Accordingly, a user may use a single assembly that may be quickly and easily modified to meet the user's needs, such as his/her current balance or energy level. One or more folding mechanisms may be employed to allow the walker/cane assembly, or the frame forming a portion of the walker/cane assembly, to be easily collapsed and folded. This may allow a user to store the walker/cane assembly, or the frame portion of the assembly, in a smaller amount of space than the expanded walker/cane assembly or the frame portion of the assembly may otherwise occupy.

摘要: Devices and systems are described including a walking aid including a linear rod having a first end and a second end, a hand grip disposed in proximity to the first end of the linear rod, two or more extendable and retractable self-leveling load-bearing feet at the second end of the linear rod, at least one sensor configured to detect a parameter of a walking surface in proximity to the second end of the linear rod, and a controller including a microprocessor and circuitry, the controller operably coupled to the two or more extendable and retractable self-leveling load-bearing feet and the at least one sensor, and including circuitry configured to receive information regarding the detected parameter of the walking surface from the at least one sensor and circuitry configured to actuate at least one of the two or more extendable and retractable self-leveling load-bearing feet in response to the information regarding the detected parameter of the walking surface.

摘要: The invention concerns a variable-length crutch 1 comprising a main body 2, a foot 5 extensible and retractable with respect to said main body 2, and an actuator comprising a motor 6 with a rotary output shaft 9 and a worm transmission in order to convert a rotation of said motor shaft 9 into a linear movement of said foot 5 with respect to the main body 2. The worm transmission is irreversible. The actuator also comprises a programmable module 8 controlling the motor 6 and a sensor 10 for extending the foot 5 with respect to the main body 2. The module 8 is connected to said motor 6 in order to control the extension and/or retraction of the crutch to a preprogrammed length and to stop the motor 6 when said length is reached.

摘要: Stabilizer support for crutches and/or walking sticks, comprising a cylindrical body (1) with vertical axis within which there is a seat destined to receive a portion of a crutch or walking stick (S). The stabilizer support comprises more extractable feet (5) which, in a retracted position, are vertical and are inside the said body (1) while, in the extracted position, are spread apart and are external to the said body (1) thus forming a stable base of the stabilizer support. 摘要: A robotic cane may include a grip handle, a cane body extending from the grip handle at a first end, a motorized omni-directional wheel coupled to a second end of the cane body, a balance control sensor, and a controller module. The balance control sensor provides a balance signal corresponding to an orientation of the robotic cane. The controller module may receive the balance signal from the balance control sensor and calculate a balancing velocity of the motorized omni-directional wheel based at least in part on the balance signal and an inverted pendulum control algorithm. The controller module may further provide a drive signal to the motorized omni-directional wheel in accordance with the calculated balancing velocity. The calculated balancing velocity is a speed and direction of the motorized omni-directional wheel to retain the robotic cane in an substantially upright position.

摘要: A cuff portion for a forearm crutch, and a forearm crutch incorporating such a cuff portion are described. The forearm crutch consists of a lower elongate and generally straight part, an upper elongate generally straight part connected to and in particular angled relative to the lower elongate part, a handle part for gripping by a patient for example at or about the said angle, and a cuff portion connected to the end of the upper straight part. The cuff portion is modified by provision of a stabilising arm (4, 5) connected to the cuff (2) and outwardly extendable relative to the cuff so as to be moveable between a retracted position close to the side of the cuff and an extended position outwardly from the side of the cuff so as to define in combination with the cuff a base on which the crutch can be stood in an upright position.
