Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided to generate an access code specific to a user of an online marketplace to use to enter a first accommodation during a first reservation time frame and a second accommodation during a second reservation time frame and to send the access code specific to the user to a computing device at the first accommodation and a computing device at the second accommodation to use to enter the first accommodation during the first reservation time period and the second accommodation during the second reservation time period. The access code is automatically removed from the computing device at the first accommodation and the computing device at the second accommodation at the end of the first reservation time period and at the end of the second reservation time period, respectively.
Abstract:
A constant resistance exercise machine for sprint training or adaptation into exercise equipment having cyclical movements, preferably over a distance. The constant resistance exercise machine includes an exercise cable storage and feed reel, a constant tension spring motor, a resistance generating assembly, a flywheel, and an exercise cable. The constant tension spring motor is in operational communication with the exercise cable reel. The flywheel obtains a rotational resistance from the resistance generating assembly. The flywheel is in unidirectional rotational communication with the exercise cable reel via a one-way clutch bearing. The exercise cable is coiled about the exercise cable reel. The exercise cable is of a length that enables complete extraction of the cable from the exercise cable storage and feed reel and wherein the constant tension spring motor is arranged to retract a partially or completely extracted cable back onto the exercise cable reel.
Abstract:
In an open chamber air gun, a round is gravity fed or magnetically fed into the open chamber and falls into the magnetic flux lines of a magnet disposed at the chamber. Due to the magnet, the round is pulled securely into the chamber and then remains momentarily held in place, blocking much of the air behind it and thus increasing the air pressure driving it. When the round moves down the barrel from the breech toward the muzzle, it quickly leaves the vicinity of the magnet and the magnetic drag ceases, after which the air pressure is free to drive the round to full velocity. High rates of fire and muzzle velocities are achieved with moderate air pressure and an action with no moving parts.
Abstract:
A system for determining stroke volume of an individual. The system includes a skew-determining module that is configured to calculate a first derivative of photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals of the individual. The first derivative forms a derivative waveform. The skew-determining module is configured to determine a skew metric of the first derivative, wherein the skew metric is indicative of a morphology of at least one pulse wave detected from blood flow of the individual in the derivative waveform. The system also includes an analysis module that is configured to determine a stroke volume of the individual. The stroke volume is a function of the skew metric of the first derivative.
Abstract:
A triangular shaped omnidirectional exercise platform includes a base member, a pad member and three ball transfer units. The pad member is carried by a top surface of the base member. The three ball transfer units are coupled to a bottom surface of the base member. The three ball transfer units are arranged having an equal angular offset therebetween providing stability to the exercise platform during use. The ball transfer units each comprise a hemispherical housing, a primary ball member and a plurality of secondary ball members disposed between an inner surface of the hemispherical housing and the primary ball member. The base member can include an upper body member and a lower body member. The pad member can be manufactured of a pliant material. Features of the pad member can identify a stability region of the exercise platform. The platform can have a convex arched top surface.
Abstract:
According to embodiments, systems and methods for generating reference signals are provided. A signal may be transformed using a continuous wavelet transform. Regions of interest may be selected from a transform or the resulting scalogram that may be used to generate a reference signal to use in filtering the signal or other signals. Cross-correlation techniques may be used to cancel noise components or isolate non-noise components from the signal. A physiological parameter may then be determined from the filtered signal or isolated components in the signal.
Abstract:
A system is configured to determine a fluid responsiveness index of a patient from a physiological signal. The system may include a sensor configured to be secured to an anatomical portion of the patient, and a monitor operatively connected to the sensor. The sensor is configured to sense a physiological characteristic of the patient. The monitor is configured to receive a physiological signal from the sensor. The monitor may include an index-determining module configured to determine the fluid responsiveness index through formation of a ratio of one or both of amplitude or frequency modulation of the physiological signal to baseline modulation of the physiological signal.
Abstract:
According to embodiments, techniques for detecting probe-off events are disclosed. A sensor or probe may be used to obtain a plethysmograph or photoplethysmograph (PPG) signal from a subject. A wavelet transform of the signal may be performed and a scalogram may be generated based at least in part on the wavelet transform. One or more characteristics of the scalogram may be determined. The determined characteristics may include, for example, an energy decrease, a broadscale high-energy cone, a regular, repeated high-scale pattern, a low-scale information pattern; and a pulse band. The absence or presence of these and other characteristics, along with information about the characteristics, may be analyzed to detect a probe-off event. A confidence indicator may be calculated in connection with probe-off event detections and alarms may be generated when probe-off events occur.
