The invention relates to a method for detecting hydrocarbon spill in an aqueous medium from a plurality of images of the surface of the aqueous medium obtained by an infrared camera comprising analyzing an image of the plurality of images; checking whether at least one region that could be identified as spill is displayed in the image, in case of positive result, assessing whether the point representing a multidimensional vector of characteristics associated with the region is within a reference zone defined in a multidimensional space, this reference zone being representative of multidimensional vectors of characteristics of regions corresponding to real spills; if it is determined that the point representing the multidimensional vector of characteristics is within the multidimensional reference zone, generating a warning signal of spill.
Abstract:
A controller controls a first heating stage to heat a printing medium to a first temperature in a printing region when printing latex ink on the printing medium, and controls a second heating stage to heat the printing medium to a second temperature greater than the first temperature in a curing region to cure the latex ink on the medium. The controller controls a cooling stage located between the first and second heating stages to cool the printing medium after the printing medium has been heated by the first heating stage and prior to heating of the printing medium by the second heating stage.
Abstract:
Identification of objects in images. All images are scanned for key-points and a descriptor is computed for each region. A large number of descriptor examples are clustered into a Vocabulary of Visual Words. An inverted file structure is extended to support clustering of matches in the pose space. It has a hit list for every visual word, which stores all occurrences of the word in all reference images. Every hit stores an identifier of the reference image where the key-point was detected and its scale and orientation. Recognition starts by assigning key-points from the query image to the closest visual words. Then, every pairing of the key-point and one of the hits from the list casts a vote into a pose accumulator corresponding to the reference image where the hit was found. Every pair key-point/hit predicts specific orientation and scale of the model represented by the reference image.

A printer comprises a heating system to produce a hot-air flowimpinging on a print media, the heating system comprising a heat source, a fan, and an air chamber. The air chamber has an air-impinging plate with air-impinging holes adjacent to the print media. The heating system provides first and second partially overlapping hot-air circulation circuits. The first hot-air circulation circuit leads from the heater through the holes of the air-impinging plate to direct hot air through the air-impinging holes to the print media in the course of printing operation. The second hot-air circulation circuit leads back to the heater through a recirculation channel without passing through the air-impinging holes of the air-impinging plate to prevent air from being directed onto the print media, in the course of the heat-up operation. The heating system further comprises circuit-switching arranged to switch the air flow between the first and second hot-air circulation circuits.

Mobile communication devices include multi-band antennas that use an internal conductor and a perimeter conductor to define antenna sections that are coupled together based on an RF wavelength of interest. The antenna sections can be selected or deselected by shunting to ground using a passive filter device or an active RF switch. In other examples, filters or switches are configured to couple an internal conductor and a portion of a perimeter conductor together to provide an effective antenna length associated with a selected frequency.
